Jeremy Pruitt has spent the last three seasons as a defensive assistant on Nick Saban’s staff.
According to the 24-7 Sports Network, Florida State has hired Alabama defensive backs coach Jeremy Pruitt as the Seminoles’ new defensive coordinator.
The defensive coordinator position at Florida State became open when Mark Stoops accepted the head coaching job at Kentucky a few weeks ago.
Pruitt has spent the last three seasons as a defensive assistant on Nick Saban’s staff. He has no coordinator experience at the collegiate level, although he did spend a number of years as the defensive coordinator at Hoover High School in Alabama.
Pruitt has often been cited as one of the top recruiting assistants in all of college football.
It is thought that he will join the Florida State program immediately following the BCS National Championship Game on January 7.
