Crowell Dismissed

Former five-star prep recruit Isaiah Crowell has been kicked off of the Georgia football team.

ATHENS, Ga. --- University of Georgia sophomore tailback Isaiah Crowell has been dismissed from the team according to an announcement Friday by Bulldog head coach Mark Richt.

"We have a dedicated and committed group of men who are working hard to prepare for the coming season," said Richt. "Our total focus will be directed toward the team and this effort."

Crowell started seven games in 2011 and rushed for 850 yards on 185 carries.

He was arrested and charged with two felonies and a misdemeanor, according to the Athens-Clarke County Jail Booking report.

Crowell, 19, was charged with a felony count of possessing a weapon in a school zone, a felony count of altered identification mark and misdemeanor count of possession/carrying a concealed weapon.

He was arrested around 2:20 a.m. ET after being stopped at a vehicle checkpoint near the Georgia campus and booked at 3:37 a.m.
