Georgia Tech leads the all-time series with Miami, but the Hurricanes have won the last three contests.
After a wipeout win for the Yellow Jackets over Virginia, the Georgia Tech looks for more of the same as they welcome the Miami Hurricanes to Bobby Dodd on Saturday afternoon. Georgia Tech leads the all-time series 10-7, and is 8-3 at home in the series. The Jackets are on a hot streak on offense that has not been seen since 1936, as they have scored 50 points in back to back games. While Georgia Tech does lead the series, Miami has won the last three, and the Jackets will be looking to snap the streak by the Hurricanes. Here are my three keys to the ACC conference battle.
1. Come out stinging - Fast starts are key for Georgia Tech as they got out to a hot start against Virginia last week. Tech ended up winning 56-20.
2. Run, Orwin, Run - If you have seen Forrest Gump, you have probably already put two and two together. The Jackets must run, and it starts with A-back Orwin Smith. In last week's conference game, Smith had 137 yards and a touchdown on just six attempts. That averages out to 22.8 yards per attempt. Even more staggering, Smith has the highest career average yards per attempt in the ACC for a player with over 1,000 yards.
3. Let the Jackets loose - The pass rush makes any quarterback's life miserable, and the front seven for Tech has been on point early this season. Jeremiah Attaochu, in particular, has proven just how talented he is.
Score Prediction: Georgia Tech 38, Miami 14
