Loucheiz Purifoy is no longer facing charges for misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
Florida football player Loucheiz Purifoy is no longer facing charges for misdemeanor possession of marijuana.
Purifoy had been facing one charge for misdemeanor possession stemming from an incident earlier in Februrary.
According to his agent, Huntley Johnson, Purifoy was a backseat passenger in car which allegedly contained less than 20 grams of marijuana between the driver and passenger seat. As a backseat passenger who did not have the drugs in his possession, the state found it prudent and appropriate to drop the charges against Purifoy.
The dismissal of the charges is good news for a Florida team which will certainly need Purifoy during spring practice.
After spending last season as strictly a defensive back, Purifoy will be asked to spend some time at wide receiver during the spring due to the Gators’ severe lack of depth at the position. Purifoy is one of the top athletes at Florida, and he very well could see significant time in all three phases of the game come regular season.
