With the seemingly endless assortment of negative news stories which have unfolded during this college football offseason, it is very easy to take a cynical view of the sport as a whole.
A bevy of suspensions, investigations and arrests has created a significant black eye for the entire landscape of college football.
As an increasing amount of pessimistic news stories are being thrust into the public spotlight, it is easy to overlook many of the inspiring and uplifting stories encapsulated in the sport.
It is with such thought in mind that we take a break from the typical stories marred by scandal to present a story of perseverence and determination.
Marc Panu, a fourth-year walk-on fullback at Vanderbilt University, recently received a full scholarship from head coach James Franklin during a team meeting. Members of the Commodore athletic department were present to catch the exchange on video, and they have since posted the video on the internet.
