Three SoCon schools were ranked in the preseason top 25 by Lindy's Magazine.

Lindy's Football Magazine recently released its Preseason FCS Top 25, with three Southern Conference teams being ranked in the top 10.

Appalachian State is the highest ranked SoCon school in the preseason rankings, coming in at No. 6. The Mountaineers were upset by Maine in the first round of the playoffs last year, but have a wealth of talent returning, led by QB Jamal Jackson.

Georgia Southern, which won the league title last year and has made the semifinals of the playoffs each of the last two years, ranks one spot behind Appalachian State at No. 7. The Eagles will have to replace QB Jaybo Shaw, but Coach Jeff Monken will have no shortage of athleticism at the skill positions. DT Brent Russell is an All-American talent who will anchor the Eagle defense.

Wofford is the third league team ranked in the top 10, coming in at No. 10. The Terriers finished last season with an 8-4 record and were defeated by Northern Iowa in their first playoff game.
