Montel Harris Enrolls at Temple

The leading rusher in Boston College history, Montel Harris was permanently dismissed from the Eagles’ program in May due to repeated violation of team rules.

Former Boston College running back Montel Harris has enrolled in classes at Temple and will be immediately eligible to play for the Owls this fall.

The leading rusher in Boston College history, Harris was permanently dismissed from the Eagles’ program in May due to repeated violation of team rules.

Harris, who almost certainly would have become the leading rusher in ACC history had he played a full season for the Eagles this fall, will reunite with former Boston College offensive coordinator Kevin Rogers, who now serves as Temple’s quarterbacks coach.

While most transfers are forced to sit out one season due to NCAA rules, Harris is immediately eligible to participate at Temple because he received his undergraduate degree from Boston College and is now enrolled in graduate courses that are not offered at his previous school.

With the loss of Harris, Boston College will rely on Andre Williams, Rolandan “Deuce” Finch and Tahj Kimble to carry the load at running back this season. The Eagles averaged 130.9 yards per game on the ground in 2011.
