Florida State quarterback Jameis Winston threw five touchdown passes in a victory over No. 25 Maryland.

ACC Offensive Player of the Week: Boston College RB Andre Williams

After Saturday’s game against Army, Williams now leads the nation in rushing yards per game, averaging over 153 yards on the ground every time he hits the gridiron. Williams was nothing short of spectacular against the Black Knights, carrying the football 30 times for 263 yards and five touchdowns. Because of Williams’ success, Boston College only attempted 13 passes on the afternoon. He is now nearly 200 yards ahead of the second-leading rusher in the conference.

ACC Defensive Player of the Week: Clemson DE Vic Beasley

While his teammate, Darius Robinson, recorded a pair of interceptions, it was Beasley who was making life difficult for Terrel Hunt and the Syracuse offense all afternoon. Beasley finished the game with four tackles for loss and two sacks, and was constantly a nuisance in the Orange backfield. Beasley currently leads the nation with eight sacks on the season.

ACC Special Teams Player of the Week: Boston College K Nate Freese

Freese was perfect in the Eagles’ 48-27 win over Army, converting all six of his extra-point attempts as well as nailing field goals from 49 and 28 yards respectively. His 49-yard field goal was particularly important as it gave the Eagles a two-possession lead going into halftime.

ACC Freshman of the Week: Florida State QB Jameis Winston

Winston made a strong case for being the overall player of the week in the conference, completing 23-of-32 passes for 393 yards and five touchdowns against No. 25 Maryland. His statistics are even more impressive when considering that the Terrapins entered the game ranked first in the conference in scoring defense. Through five games, Winston is completing over 73% of his passes for 1,441 yards, 17 scores and just two interceptions.

ACC X-Factors of the Week: Wake Forest QB Tanner Price and WR Michael Campanaro

While Wake Forest’s running backs combined to rush for a mere 32 yards against NC State, Price and Campanaro were able to pick up the slack and lead the Demon Deacons to a much-needed conference victory. Price rushed for a career-high 82 yards on 13 carries. He also completed 24-of-39 passes for 268 yards and three touchdowns. Meanwhile, Campanaro caught 12 of those passes for 153 yards and a pair of scores.
