Beyond any box score, the bottom line is that the Yellow Jackets believe.

Georgia Tech has momentum. College football better be paying attention.

After an impressive Friday night showing in a 46-27 win over Louisville, the Yellow Jackets, fresh off notable recruiting success, now have two wins over bowl teams from a season ago in the Cardinals and Florida State. Ahead of an upcoming contest against top-ranked Clemson, Georgia Tech has a winning record in ACC play. The Yellow Jackets also have a number of the league's most exciting players. Some of them, like quarterback Jeff Sims and running back Jahmyr Gibbs, are true freshman.

Not only is Georgia Tech's foundation already in place, the building process is suddenly taking shape.

It's been said that good teams find different ways to win. That they aren't only limited to one way of getting the job done. The Yellow Jackets' two victories don't have much in common, save poise and production. Georgia Tech scored 20 points in the fourth quarter Friday night, using a late offensive outburst to pull away from Louisville. In the season opener in Tallahassee, defense ruled the day. A 16-13 win saw the Yellow Jackets hold Florida State to just over 300 yards. Both games resulted in Georgia Tech making the key plays down the stretch.

Beyond any box score, the bottom line is that the Yellow Jackets believe. There is conviction in competition, a confidence that proves true in tough spots. Geoff Collins and staff have Georgia Tech winning and improving all at once.

Over the next six weeks, the Yellow Jackets will face three top ten teams: Clemson, Notre Dame and Miami. We will learn a lot more about Georgia Tech and where this fast-rising program is big picture. The Yellow Jackets have now positioned themselves to be part of the the national conversation. That said, the progress that has already been made is undeniable. Undoubtedly, there is more to come.

Right in the heart of Atlanta, Georgia Tech is making headlines. The Yellow Jackets are also making their move.
