Boston College beats Maryland 36-30 in the Quick Lane Bowl.

1. With the Quick Lane Bowl triumph over Maryland, Boston College finished the season playing its best football of the year. Add in November victories over Wake Forest and UConn and the Eagles won three games in a row to close out their schedule. Over the final six games on the slate, Boston College lost only to Louisville and Florida State.

2. The Eagles set a season high, against FBS foes, with 36 points in the win over the Terrapins. Offensively, Boston College scored 29 first half points. The unit found balance in production with 171 yards passing and 177 yards rushing rushing. Perhaps the play of the day, receiver Jeff Smith threw a 20-yard touchdown pass to quarterback Patrick Towles.

3. An early second-half sequence was a critical one in the game. After, a booming punt by Mike Knoll pinned Maryland deep in its own territory. a Nao Merritt forced fumble was recovered by Kevin Kavalec in the endzone for a touchdown. The points were the Eagles' lone of the second half, proving to the difference in the outcome of the game.

4. Pass-rusher extraordinaire Harold Landry added 1.5 more sacks to his remarkable total. Landry currently leads the nation with 16.5 sacks, adding 22 tackles for loss. Few players in league history have had more productive single-seasons as a defensive playmaker.

5. The bowl win was Boston College's first since 2007.
