North Carolina's offense shines in a 48-20 win over Georgia Tech.

1. North Carolina moves to 7-2 and, most importantly, 5-1 in league play with a convincing 48-20 win over Georgia Tech. The Tar Heels still need a Virginia Tech loss, but remain in good position in the ACC Coastal Division entering the season's stretch run. After a Yellow Jacket field goal narrowed the home advantage to just 27-20 midway through the third quarter, North Carolina rallied with 21 unanswered points to finish the game; that flurry proved to be the difference.

2. What a performance by the UNC offense. The Tar Heels compiled 636 total yards, averaging 10.1 yards per pass and 8.1 yards per rush. North Carolina was 8-of-13 on third downs and did not have a single turnover in the contest. Individually, quarterback Mitch Trubisky completed 20-of-32 passes for 329 yards and a touchdown, Elijah Hood ran 12 times for 168 yards and three scores and Bug Howard caught six passes for 120 and a touchdown.

3. Though the Tar Heels gave up a lot of yards defensively, it was a bend-but-don't-break effort. Georgia Tech scored just two touchdowns, one coming on an 83-yard pass. North Carolina did a better job when the field was shortened and recovered two key fumbles.

4. UNC Kicker Nick Weiler continues to show that he can be effective from distance. He was 2-of-2 on Saturday, including converting on a 50-yard attempt.

5. Led by true freshman Dedrick Mills' 132 yards, the Yellow Jackets mustered 334 yards rushing and, with more big plays from quarterback Justin Thomas, 184 yards passing. There simply wasn't great redzone efficiency in the loss.
