After just one week of regular season action, we already have a number of teams on the rise and on the decline in our Pigskin Fantasy U rankings.

Well, in the first week we saw some upsets that will show some holes in many Pigskin Fantasy U lineups. On the other hand, we have many teams off to a great start which can boost many fantasy teams' win totals throughout the season. Let’s see what teams around college football are rising and falling in the Pigskin Fantasy U rankings.

Falling Stock

Kansas State - No, you cannot pick up North Dakota State.  The Wildcats will still get plenty of wins this season, but losses such as this probably cost you head-to-head matchups in fantasy.

Southern Miss - This team is highly overrated in the Pigskin Fantasy U draft rankings at 69 and I tried to warn you. Didn’t win a single game last year and lost opening day at home against Texas State. You may want to start looking at the add/drop list to see if there is a more consistent option.

North Carolina - Even though they were playing South Carolina, the Tar Heels were not impressive. They will get a win against Middle Tennessee State this Saturday, but the schedule doesn’t set up well for them as they face a challenging stretch of games including Georgia Tech, East Carolina, Virginia Tech and Miami.

Rising Stock

Washington - This is the team to watch in the Pac-12 with QB Keith Price leading the charge. The Huskies have two tough games in the first weeks of October against Oregon and Stanford, but have proven, in the first week, to be a team to go above their projected win total.

Northern Illinois - Last year, Northern Illinois lost to Iowa in Week One and then won 12 straight games. This year, the Huskies beat Iowa in Week One and have a relatively unchallenging schedule left to play. Northern Illinois may finish with the highest regular season win total and prove last season was not a fluke.

Florida State - Did anyone else have their jaw drop watching Monday night college football? Not going to lie, I was upset after the game just because FSU has a bye week, meaning I have to wait another week to see Jameis Winston again. A freshman opening up on the road in a primetime game with that kind of performance is impressive and is even more exciting for FSU team owners.
