Amari Rodgers is a standout playmaker on the nation’s top ranked team.

Clemson has superstars all over the field. Quarterback Trevor Lawrence and running back Travis Etienne are both well-established as all-time greats. Pay attention to wide receiver Amari Rodgers as well, a talent who gives the Tigers a bonafide big three offensively. Currently with 25 receptions for 429 yards and five touchdowns, he has been one of college football’s best receivers. Rodgers, even with Clemson unfortunately missing Justyn Ross, has helped Clemson stretch the field and keep pressure on opposing defenses.

In The Tigers’ 73-point outburst at Georgia Tech on Saturday, Rodgers had a signature performance: six receptions for 161 yards and two scores, one of them going for 83 yards. The last couple of weeks have been an especially-productive stretch for the senior. He scored two touchdowns against Virginia to open the month, set a new career high with seven catches in a top ten showdown versus Miami and then promptly set a new personal yardage-best in Atlanta.

Rodgers ranks in the top five amongst Power Five receivers with 19 catches for the month of November.

Simply put, Rodgers is a playmaker. He is tied for the ACC-lead, and paces all league wide receivers, with five touchdown grabs. Rodgers is currently averaging 17.16 yards per reception, the highest rate in the conference for any player with at least 20 catches. The only Power Five players with that minimum to average more yards per reception than Rodgers are Alabama’s Jaylen Waddle and LSU’s Terrence Marshall.

In terms of his career totals, Rodgers is poised to soon move into the top ten in Clemson history in both catches and touchdowns, joining an impressive list of heralded names at WRU.

Along with Lawrence, Etienne and company, Rodgers is contributing the Tigers average 48.4 points and 530.6 yards per game. No team in college football has scored more touchdowns than Clemson with 32, which has three more than the next team and six more than the next Power Five team. Individually, Rodgers ranks in the national top ten with seven catches of at least 20 yards. He is also one of just eight players in the country with a reception of 80 yards or more.

Rodgers is a standout playmaker on the nation’s top ranked team. The Tigers are now 22-0 when he tops 16 yards receiving in a single game.

As Clemson chases another championship, Rodgers, one of the ACC’s top receivers, is one of the standouts leading the charge.
