Robot Janitors, Robot Inventory scanners, not to mention the already huge amount of self-checkout stations.  They also have my favorite, the Mobile App, where you scan as you put items into your shopping cart that monitors money spent, and when finished you can pay on your phone and walk out the door where one of those 15 P/H people that still has a job verifies the purchases with a scanning device.

They say necessity is the mother on invention.  Somehow I don’t think government mandated pay hikes was considered when that expression was created.
