Not a good week for the Democrats. The Iowa caucus debacle, Trump’s very strong SOTU speech where Nancy Pelosi totally embarrassed herself and today the Senate will end the witch hunt and the 2020 race for the White House begins.
Trumps Speech was one of accomplishments and American Greatness. A big emphasis on African American needs. He also let the Democrats know that that he’s not going to allow them to have the sole voice on health care as he’s going to make a pitch to the nation on a system that is not a socialist take over.
The optics for the Democrats and Pelosi was a really bad look. They are coming across as a hateful vindictive block of people and if they keep this projection up Trump will cruise to reelection and even the House control could be in jeopardy.

Trump protecting preexisting conditions when Republicans are literally trying to undo the only thing protecting preexisting conditions through activist judges cause they can’t do it by legislation. Remember when you hated that? Lol. So stupid even for you to fall for.

I thought it was a great week for Democrats proving they are the only thing holding the line from a complete takeover of a once proud nation by a cult of conformism to one man.
It would be sad if it wasn’t so obvious and cheesy.
The fact is there will be a lot of spots up for reelection in November. I fully expect a move back to the right here in NC. Nationally, I do not keep up with other states, but if it’s true (I know it is) that unemployment is low, wages are climbing… most folks worry about the bottom line, and when it’s looking good.. they want morel
Actually, when I was in Pharmacy School at UNC, my wife was expecting a child. Cell phones were not common then. She called the school to tell them to get me. My friend came running across the street to get me. She found me, and I started running to call her back. A couple of my buddies said “run Forest run”, as that movie wasn’t too old then. Those signs remind me of that exciting time in my life. Otherwise, political signs are little more than litter. I’ll add, you have no idea who I am or what I like. I’d appreciate you making no guesses in the future.
What I liked most about the speech was the recognition of the Tuskegee air man, who fought in WW2, Korea, and Vietnam. Trump giving him General’s rank I felt was quite touching to the man in what will obviously be the setting of the 100 year old man’s life.

I think Dan Forrest is the perfect candidate for you. Good analysis on the rightward turn too…where have you been for the past decade?

The last decade worked fine for me. The thing about the bathroom was stupid. The present governor wants to expand medicaid, which I oppose. States that expanded it previously now have to pay it back. NC cut taxes, but now has budget surplus to restore the rainy day fund Purdue raided it. Her and Easley were so tied up in coastal development pocket lining she had to decline to run for a second term. That’s where I was. Forrest was all about that bathroom bill. If he chooses that cross to die on, it’s his choice. Otherwise, I’ve enjoyed paying less tax. I live in Wake County, which is raising property taxes with a democratic county board. I bet that will change, too.

Holding does not live in what would be his new district. He is now my representative, but I understand he’s going back into the private (banking) sector. Got fill those coffers for retirement. In the general assembly of NC, the districts will be radically different also.
