People are tired of politics and political people, can’t say I blame them.  It’s been warped to something not respected.

Populism is great until they actually get elected and have to do something. It is always easy to be against and say no….much harder to be in charge and actually govern. You aren’t as popular then.

I feel like you have to go through that to get change.  Might be a rough couple of years, but hope this reforms political systems.

Our system is not so fragile that it cannot handle a shaking up. The other choice it to take away voting rights from citizens since we obviously don’t know better.

I wish that we mandated that a certain percentage of our political system consisted of engineers, physicians, teachers, and scientist.  It seems we mostly elect lawyers who are only good at putting up more red tape and have not idea how most of functioning society and common folks live.

I also wish there was a live voting system so citizens could log in once a quarter and give feedback on political ideas.  The poll could be accuracy checked by a mail system and politicians adherence to their constituents preferences tracked.

I would be happy with a Constitutional Amendment limiting the terms of National Congressional Term limits for both the Senate and House of Representatives.  I would also live to see a Term Limits on US Supreme Court Justices.

I support term limits on politicians…not sure on judges.

Trivia: Iceland is the smallest country on earth with its own currency. About the size of Raleigh.

I agree the Iceland is not the same..the population and racial make are just a few things, but there are a pretty socialist country make such a move.

My feelings on judges are specifically targeted at the US Supreme Court.  People didn’t live as long as they used to when these lifetime appointment were enacted.  being able to essentially control 1/3 of our government for 30 years with no limit seems to have outgrown its intent.

I love Iceland, need to plan a trip back there not affiliated with the military.  More trivia, I’m told Iceland’s President may be the most accessible leader in the world.  Pretty much anyone can arrange a meeting with him.  And you can drive up to the house with no problems and knock on the door.

I tend to agree on the judges CU, solely because the president can put up his man that fits his political agenda and as long as he has the senate on his side he can push him into the seat.  It may not always line up where President’s party has control of the Senate in the year of an opening, but it has and it could.  And I see that just as dirty as any other politics because it’s a decision that can last decades.
