I haven’t had as much time this year to watch but I really do love the Olympics.  I thought about trying to go to Rio but it’s just too expensive for me right now, maybe one day.  Anyway the US is really crushing it right now.  Leading in all medal counts.  Former Clemson Tiger Brianna Rollins brought home the gold tonight in 100m hurdles, USA swept the podium.

Anyone ever been?  How was it and where did you go?

I enjoy watching them, summer games more so than winter.  I was really really disappointed with how the USWNT (soccer) went out.  Very disappoint.  I follow them closely so it was the one sport I was really looking forward to.  Enjoyed watching the US in the pool too.

As an American I love watching Bolt run.  What an athlete.  I love how he looks around and smiles before he even finishes, he knows no one can touch him.

Rio seems like a complete disaster Olympic city though.  So many problems.  I thought their opening ceremonies were crap too, can’t wait to see it in China again.

I like the Olympics too. It gives me an interest in sports I wouldn’t otherwise watch.

The US has definitely dominated, but it’s also fun when you see some of the stories of underdogs winning and sportsmanship and the drama of some events.

I tried to go in 96 to Atlanta, but I had other obligations get in the way at the last minute. The worst part was the people I was supposed to go with went so of course I got all the reports back about how much fun they had.

I found myself fascinated and captivated by the England vs Fiji Rugby match.  I was surprised.  Fiji’s first ever gold medal I believe it was so cool seeing them win it.

That was great to see. I was surprised it was their first gold too. I think they’re having a huge celebration. Rugby is big in Fiji so that probably makes it more special. The team showed great class and sportsmanship when they were given the medals.

I also enjoy watching some of the Olympics. My work schedule has been crazy this summer, and most free time I’ve spent playing golf 9 holes at the time. When I have had time to relax the Olympics have been a great diversion. The USA is really doing well.

As an aside i think I also enjoy the winter Olympics. Bobsled, luge, and skeleton are awesome to watch. I wouldn’t mind trying to bobsled one day.

Summer olympics are awesome…

Winter Olympics are a combination of gravity and dancing…with a little hockey and ice shuffleboard thrown in.

Say that to a skier going 75 mph down a mountain on two little rails. Gravity kills, man.

Nobody said it isn’t dangerous…so is NASCAR and F1. Also not in the olympics. Winter Olympics are not a true representation of the world. They don’t hold a fraction of the significance of the summer Olympics.

Winter is just as much a season as summer. You seem kind of seasonally limited. I mean, have you ever gone sledding in the snow? I know you don’t have to jump, run, or throw anything, but it’s very fun.

Thanks for proving my point. Winter Olympics is white people riding gravity. Summer Olympics are athletes from all over the entire world competing in real sports.

Winter is for Yankees.

Oh my! They are just different. Like apples and oranges. If you can not appreciate both that is your loss.

You can have your ice carving contests between Swedes and Canadians. I enjoy watching actual sports, not gravity. Not saying it isn’t challenging or skillful, or fun to do up at Sugar or Beech, just not even on the same level. More like a single frozen grape compared to an entire grocery of produce.
