Not so sure why you are cheering this…in fact it just made it easier than ever to render the stupid thing moot without a constitutional amendment. The electoral college is about to make it impossible for Republicans to ever win thanks to demographics. A “faithless” elector was your hope but since they failed their purpose in 2016 let’s get rid of them. Good work.
Good win against the EC and a loss for the folks who think watching Prager U videos make you knowledgeable. Of course understanding the consequences of decisions isn’t your strong suit, which is why I guess you are happy.

The article raises an interesting point:
Which brings us back to this week’s Supreme Court ruling, which paves the way for us to effectively abolish the Electoral College without needing a constitutional amendment. After all, the same constitutional principles that allow a state to bind its electors to the winner of the statewide popular vote should allow it to bind its electors to the winner of the nationwide popular vote. This means that if states that combine to hold a majority of electoral votes all agree to support the popular-vote winner, they can do an end-run around the Electoral College. America would still have its clumsy two-step process for presidential elections. But the people’s choice and the electors’ choice would be guaranteed to match up every time.
That would probably create another SCOTUS fight and the outcome would depend on the majority balance. Can a State nullify the will of it’s own people to the will of the nation?
