VT won, but their offense managed only 3 points after half time. How they scored 17 and beat UNC is befuddling. FSU holding their own through 1 and 3/4 quarters vs ND. Dook lost to UNC Charlotte. Louisville holding all the cards for ACC pride, also VT. What’s next?

Horrible opening week for ACC teams.  I do have to give a nod to a scrappy FSU team that showed a lot of heart in an OT loss to Notre Dame.  College Football is better when FSU is good.  Hopefully Norvell has this team moving in the right direction.  That FSU team last night probably would have Beat Clemson and UNC.

Most of the Clemson national wants to fire their OC.  That loss in on DJ.  He looked like Logan Thomas.  He was stationary.  His release was telegraphed and slow.  The Defense played lights out.

I was really surprised that UNC did look better. I thought it would be a good game with UNC pulling it out. They just couldn’t get anything going.

The Clemson defense looked great! The offense obviously didn’t get anything going. I was surprised, unfortunately. When you don’t know who’s playing what position on the line a week before the game, that’s not going to be very good against a top DL. DJ didn’t help. He was too still and took too many sacks. He was sacked on some plays where he had a lot of room to run if he had stepped up into the pocket. All that said, minus an unfortunate pick 6, that game is a 3-3 tie. Clemson and Georgia are both top notch teams with Georgia having the edge. Clemson will likely win out the rest of the season. Whether they get to the playoffs remains to be seen, but they better get that offense going or they’ll be in trouble in a playoff.

FSU really surprised me. I thought they would get whipped in that game. They showed more fight than they’ve shown recently, and it was a fun game to watch.

I knew Ole Miss would beat Louisville, but after about the 4th targeting call in a few minutes, I called it a night.

The ACC may be at a historical bad.  I don’t think a 12-1 Clemson makes the playoffs against other 12-1 schools unless a program like Oklahoma or Ohio State loses to an unranked school because the rest of our schedule isn’t what you would call a murder’s row. UNC’s loss to an unranked VT killed them.

All we can do is sit back and see how it plays out

It’s early at this point. Maybe FSU or NCSU could end up being good - or VT? UNC could potentially get on track too. We just finished week 1, though it was a bad one.

We’ll have to see who does what. If UGA has a stellar year, I’m not so sure a pick six td loss knocks us out of it. We held their offense to 3 as well. I think we have to avoid any of our typical unnecessarily close games. Oklahoma or OSU losses look possible.
