That’s a good question and a lot of people are asking the same thing. I don’t think he will, at least not for a while. I think he is very focused on the culture and building relationships and would worry about the impact that bringing in people like that might have on the relationships and team culture. He has said he wants to see the impact it has on other teams which makes it sound like something they would consider at some point in the future, but I don’t think we’ll see it soon. Something needs to happen though, the offense is bad right now, and now the defense is banged up.

Culture and relationships are great but this is college football. Winning is the bottom line. How long do you think Dabo will be around if he starts having losing seasons?

And like the other poster said you either adapt or die. And the landscape of college football has changed a lot.

I don’t disagree that things have changed and he may need to consider taking a look at it. He would tell you that culture and relationships are a key ingredient they used to get to winning football games, and there is no doubt that it has helped in bringing in top level talent. They’ve had very good recruiting over several years now and, based on talent, should have beaten GT worse and should have beaten NC State. Since they aren’t, I really don’t know if it’s that they need additional players or if it’s that something different needs to happen with the ones they’ve got.

And he’s in a position similar to Sabin where he could take on rehab cases and get away with it.

You are correct in the state of the ACC none of those games should be close with the talent advantage that Clemson has. And with that advantage you have to question the coaching.

That is true. He has made changes in the past.

I do question coaching. I look specifically at the OL coach and Elliot as OC.

Our offensive line hasn’t been the strength of the team in a long time. The DL has had several great lines with very good mixed in. The OL hasn’t had any great lines and some good down to adequate, and now this.

I really like Tony Elliot and think he’s a great guy. I’ve questioned playcalling for a while, but it is way too predictable. If the line can’t block well enough, you really need the defense to not know the plays ahead of time.

He’ll stay around longer than an SEC coach.  One of the running jokes I’ve hear is the SEC needs the bigger TV contracts to cover the buyouts of the coaches they fire.

Dabo has this job for as long as he wants it.  The Coordinators are a different story.

Dabo would step down before he got fired and we are no where near that.  He’s been offered NFL gigs in the past and my guess is that’s what he would do if the money was and control of the roaster was offered.
