We have the CFL, which is a very established league for those that aren’t quite good enough for the NFL ranks. Part of the AAF’s problem is the talent pool just wasn’t good. I dare say many of the top 10 college teams could beat most of the AAF’s teams.
The XFL is going to try to seduce college kids with easy money and again, you aren’t going to have a quality talent pool.
I’m old enough to remember the USFL and I liked that league. What they did was step up and go after top NFL talents and landed some names like Hershel Walker.
With all of that said, college football and the CFL are your pools for the best players that are trying to make it to the NFL. The rest of the talent pool just isn’t exciting enough to pack a stadium in the Spring.
