I was having a conversation with someone recently about NFL players from our schools. Who would you say was the best pro player from your school - not best college player that went pro and not who has rings because of the team that drafted them, but who was the best NFL player from your school?

From Clemson, I said Brian Dawkins.

Nuk has a shot at being the best for Clemson.  Watson does too.  I think we’ll have a new best in the next 10 years with all the volume we’ll be putting in the league.

Some of our best NFL players may be playing right now or just got drafters.  As for the past, what about Levon Kirkland?

I agree that we have some now that may end up being our best. Hopkins and Watson have shown that they’re possibilities, and some of the new guys could be as well.

I thought of Kirkland. He did have a great career, but I think Dawkins was a special NFL player - ended up in the Hall of Fame.

He was a great one. I always enjoyed watching him but felt bad for him going to the Lions.
