My guess is that it’s going to be LSU, OSU, Clemson and Bama.
I think Oregon is a reasonable number 5. Bama’s loss is better, but Oregon’s wins are better. Oregon does have 2 wins by narrow margins over unranked teams. According to how Clemson was ranked, that’s a big no no.

Bama vs. Oregon/Utah and Oklahoma is really the only major dilemma I foresee down the road.

LSU, Ohio State, Clemson, Georgia, Baylor, Minnesota and Penn State are all in if they win out.

Shame we can’t be 1st, I’d love to play any of those teams you listed at 4.  They look super beatable, and most have been.

Hard to see Clemson getting higher than 2. I just can’t see Ohio State losing to anyone in the Big Ten. Lot of very good teams in the Big Ten, but no other truly great team IMO.

Georgia has a shot at LSU though. I assume y’all would prefer to be No. 2 and play Georgia than No. 3 and play Ohio State.

Not afraid of Ohio State, They’ve never beat us.  Ohio State does a fine job of stat packing, but every year someone hits them in the mouth and on a neutral field I’m confident our defense can rattle any of the top teams QB’s cage.

UGA would be fun, but I would like to shut the LSU fans up.  They seem to think the season has ended and have won it all.

Ideally, I would like for Clemson to have a change in the Peach Bowl for the fans to finally have a close game to home.

It’s going to take Clemson being the only undefeated team with LSU losing to the Dogs and Clemson beating South Carolina into a greasy spot to have a common opponent to UGA.

Week 12 rankings (2nd week)
1. LSU
2. tOSU
3. Clemson
4. UGA
5. Bama
6. Oregon
7. Utah
8. Minnesota
9. PSU
10. Oklahoma
13. Baylor

I get that close wins to bad teams aren’t the best thing to have on a resume, particularly several of them.  But when those hold you behind people with losses it’s gotta be frustrating.

I think the Pac 12 will get in the CFP baring a UGA win over LSU in the SECCG (highly doubtful imo).

Minnesota is being disrespected. The SEC is getting too much love. Where will Bama and UGa be When LSU makes SEC title game and slams the east team? In my opinion if Oregon wins PAC they should be in. They lost early at a neutral site. Bama has beaten no one. They should be eliminated if they do not make SEC title game.

This year, the CFP seems to be going off the “resume”.  The goal is supposed to be placing the 4 BEST teams and not necessarily the 4 best resume’s.  Obviously they feel the SEC has the best resume ans are doing everything they can to position as many teams near the top to create the chance to get 2 teams in.

Georgia has no business being 4th after losing to a terrible South Carolina team AT HOME.  I agree about Minnesota.  Totally disrespect.

The 4 best teams right now are not the 4 best resume’s..

LSU
Ohio State
Clemson
Bama

5. Oregon
6.Minnesota

Just because Bama’s resume is not as great doesn’t disqualify them from being one of the best teams and played tough against LSU with a QB 2 weeks out of surgery….

If UGa Beats Auburn as does Bama, then the Tigers suddenly have 4 loses and that hurts Oregon on the “resume” although they are a good program.

Since UGa will have common opponents in Texas A&M and South Carolina to Clemson, the Tigers will have to run up the score on the Gamecocks if possible to make the “resume” look better.

How funny would it be if Bama got back in and spanked LSU in the first round?  The melt would be epic.

How many spots will LSU drop for this trash game they are playing against Ole Miss??  LSU defense is a fraud, Clemson and Ohio State would win by 3TDs against LSU.

Clemson and Ohio State should be #1 and #2.  By committee eye test standards we are the two best teams in America.  Would be a crime to make us play each other first round.

As one who believes there is some collusion in college football rankings, I think the TV power brokers will press to make sure UGA and LSU are ranked as high as possible to make the SEC title game a ratings goldmine (as if it wouldn’t be already)...I wouldn’t be a bit surprise if UGA jumps ahead of Clemson to #3 and Clemson falls to #4….If Penn State could somehow know of Ohio State and give the TV people a chance to have a 1 vs 2 SEC Title game I feel that they will create that.

LSU’s defense is like Swiss Cheese and Clemson or Ohio State would have a field day with them.

CFP Top 25 - 11/19

1. LSU
2. Ohio State
3. Clemson
4. Georgia
5. Alabama
6. Oregon
7. Utah
8. Penn State
9. Oklahoma
10. Minnesota
11. Florida
12. Wisconsin
13. Michigan
14. Baylor
15. Auburn
16. Notre Dame
17. Iowa
18. Memphis
19. Cincinnati
20. Boise St
21. Oklahoma State
22. Iowa State
23. Southern Cal
24. Appalachian State
25. SMU

This is one of those weeks when I think the fix is in to some degree.  There is not reason a 7-4 Southern Cal and a 6-4 Iowa State should be in the top 25 over teams like 7-3 Texas A&M and VT…

The only justification I can come up with is the desire to make the SOS in the PAC 12 better to make it easier for Oregon and Utah to have a better resume and the same with the Big 12…

Have to disagree with you there. USC beat Utah. That’s a really good win. Texas A&M’s best win is…Mississippi State? Ole Miss? Iowa State’s four losses are by a total of 11 points, all to teams ranked above them. So 22 feels right for them. VT is playing well of late, but they lost by about 279 points at home to a really bad Duke team. Huge black mark.

South Carolina Beat UGa..That’s a great win!  Let’s rank them!  I hate the concept of comparing a good “loss” to a “weak win”...

Southern Cal caught Utah..but got boat raced by Oregon and have losses to non ranked teams…

I would argue in the ‘“eye test” that VT and Texas A&M right now are playing very good football…

I get what you are saying but I value wins over loses…

Cool little nugget.  3 of the top 4 coaches in the rankings right now were interim status before becoming head coach of each respective program.
