Would of felt much better if we had stopped them right before half.  Right now could be a tipping point.  Not out of it, but we gotta work for it.

We’re getting a bit too cute with our play calling.  Our base offense is doing pretty well but several of the cute plays have gotten us behind the chains and killed drives.  We started running with ETN and scored a TD and then back to too much passing.  They are getting enough pressure to bother the passing game.

The 3 and 4 man rush hasn’t been cutting it.  Heavy blitzing has been fare more effective but we’re still 50/50 with it.

42-25 LSU with 12 minutes left.  That’s gonna be some tough sledding….

Not looking like our night tonight boys.  DBs haven’t made a single play, defense is gassed, and Trevor Lawrence is just not accurate tonight.  Offense can’t sustain a drive.

Offensive PI call takes TD off the board, crushing.  Looks like we are done.

Yea the refs stealing that TD basically ended it.  Refs letting some hand fighting and a DB getting crossed up and falling over take a TD and some more clock from us…

Bottom line is the better team won.  The refs didn’t do enough to affect the game.  We couldn’t stop Burrow.  No shame in losing to a better team and finishing up 14-1 and #2 in the nation.  I can live with that.

Yup after that 1st QT, they straight beat our butts and we didn’t do ourselves any favors.  They were a team of destiny, they won’t look the same next year without Burrow and whatever skill players leave.

32-42 just looks a lot better at the end of the day but I agree that LSU deserves to win.

The missed targeting on Trevor with 5 minutes left is also frustrating.  I don’t think we’ve had a single NCG without the refs allowing 1 or more targeting against our QB.  Getting old.

While I would of loved to have won this one, going forward this may be the best thing for us.  We are working on a tick and tock method.  Win one every other year.  Lawrence hasn’t tasted this feeling of a loss ever in college until tonight, and only took 1 in high school.  I can see him having a MONSTER year next year.  The expectations from the media will be lower, he’ll be wanting to really write a story after this one tonight and go out of Clemson strong.  Would be cool to have some of the other guys thinking about leaving to stick around another year, but who knows.

We were there.  Great season regardless, think how we dreamed of just getting 9-10 wins a year just a couple of years ago.  This will be a good defining moment for us going forward into next year.  To make the next rocket move upwards you must step back and consolidate.  I’ve tried working on myself, not getting too emotionally invested into these football games anymore.  Doesn’t always work but sometimes it shines through.  14-1, 29 win streak, Playoff wins and National Title games every season, 2 national titles in the past couple years, all of the ACC titles.  It’s still a great time at Clemson Football.

LSU was a team of destiny this year and it ended with a perfect storm of the championship being at home.  I don’t like them much but that’d be a cool one to win.  They’ve been a good team most of the year and just made better adjustments than we did tonight.  Trevor was off, refs missed a few calls, DBs played poorly but they straight feasted on us in the 2nd QT, 3rd we just kept tripping up, and by the 4th we were just gassed.  They weathered the storm in the 1st and made it through, credit to them.

Good season boys, that class we brought in sure looks good.  Next year should be a banger.

Also, LSU’s 3 national titles have all come in New Orleans.  There is no better place to work a bar tonight than in the state of Louisiana specifically New Orleans.  My god, you could make a year’s salary in one night.

It always hurts to lose, but it’s not like we just didn’t show up or gave one up at the end. LSU is a very good team and outplayed us. Lawrence consistently missed on throws he would typically make and receivers dropped several more. It would’ve taken our best to beat them though, and I’m not even sure that would’ve been enough.

I thought we went away from the run too early. Etienne was getting 5-6 yards per carry. I thought we should try to stick with that to control the clock and give our defense some rest.

The defense was just getting killed on the big plays and couldn’t cover their receivers. I knew LSU would score, so that didn’t really surprise me. I knew we were done when Skalski got called for the targeting though.

Talk on ESPNU radio was Clemson’s soft schedule. They did say Clemson will be a fixture and ACC play overall should improve. Sorry about loss, but UNC now has longest win streak at 3 games. Haha
