I know I’m asking for a Pines diatribe, but Trump’s desire to purchase Greenland to the point of cancelling a state visit to Denmark haqs me scratching my head.  There must be a ton of natural resources under that ice.

Thoughts?

With global warming unfreezing the ice of the Greenland glaciers the past couple of days it has probably freed up the oil laying under there, or prime real estate for the next Trump hotel.

It sounds really dumb, but I guess I never realized Denmark owned Greenland until today.  That’s pretty cool.  Flown over Greenland a couple of times, beautiful place from the air what little I got to see.

Would make one helluva penal colony…Good place to send the homeless as a motivator to find gainful employment unless less deemed unable to work.  Good place to for “ICE” to send illegals for processing…

I imagine there are some valuable resources there, and I can see a strategic point to it, but I was surprised to hear it raised. It has come up in the past, but I can’t really see it going anywhere.

It would give us closer ports and missile launch points for covering Russia and Europe.  It’s a real-estate investment.  I honestly thought the globe was done buying/selling land on Earth.

I’ve read China approached Denmark to build 3 air strips there, but were rebuffed by NATO and most strongly by the United States of America. There is a US military presence there now. Denmark has said they’d like to promote more tourism there. I’ve read President Trump sees this as a legacy building step. I personally think he needs to stay more on a domestic message from here to the general election. That said, the world keeps turning, and the The United States of America must play it’s part in it.

Did any of you actually think there is a strategy to any of this nonsense and chaos? Korea, Greenland, Tariffs…golf resorts. It’s all the same stream of consciousness, knee jerk reactions of an infant who has never been told no.

His former business acquaintances sure don’t. I can’t wait til he does for the whole country what he did for Atlantic City. After Friday it may happen faster than even I think.
