Another cupcake topic to break the tension.  I finally did a DNA test kit.  I chose the “My Heritage” mainly because I saw the ad on TV and used a promo code for free shipping.  I did the swabs and mailed off the kit yesterday and in about a month or so I should get the results back.

I have perceptions on my family origins that have been past on from family stories. It will be interesting if the DNA supports those stories.  I was curious if anyone else here has done one and how the results came out?

Because I like to think, I like to read. I’m into freedom of speech, the freedom of choice. I’m the kind of guy who likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder - “Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of BBQ ribs with the side order of gravy fries?” I want high cholesterol.

My wife did and my father did. In both cases it matched what was known about the family history. In one case, there had been extensive research done, and it matched the research. They were both done through Ancestry.
