Absolute total bullshit.  It’s ridiculous.  Alabama #3???  Penn St at 4 over Clemson???  Really??  I call BS.  Literally what else do we need to do, we win by an average of what…33pts?

Didn’t Penn St survive a scare against Pitt or someone?

Well…here’s the official 1st poll:

1.  Ohio State

2. LSU

3. Alabama

4.  Penn State

5.  Clemson

6.  UGA

Not surprised…Alabama’s SOS is worse than Clemson.

My big problem is UGa @ 6th.  Losing to South Carolina should have punished them more.

Clemson’s fine. Heaven help their remaining opponents

This Tweet I lifted of T-Net best sums the CFP Rankings up:

#2: Eye Test
#3: But Bama
#4: Resume
#5: SOS
#6: But SEC

I agree

UGA doesn’t make sense, Bama doesn’t make sense, justifying Penn St with their “marquee” win against Iowa and they can win against Pitt at home by a TD and have it be called a good win but we get dinked on our schedule (the conference Pitt plays in) and winning on the ROAD by 1 to UNC.  Yet we play 2 SEC teams and Bama/LSU/UGA get heralded for their SEC schedules.

Side note, Clemson is the only team with a top 5 total offense and top 5 total defense rating.  Out scoring opponents 398-105.  Beating teams by an average of 32.5 points per game all year long.  Like literally what else can we do for an eye test.  Committee is blind as hell.

So UGA’s loss to USCjr was a better loss than Oregon to Auburn?  HMMMMMMM.  The problem is this is not uniform as they rank each team.  It’s like the metrics change team to team.  Do they even have a check list to go down?

Penn St passing the eye test…..yep sure are.  Down 24-13 at Minnesota.  Game seems a lot further than the score indicates.

PSU is fighting their way back in but they haven’t been very impressive.  tOSU likely abuses their defenses.

The CFPC looks dumb now.  They had #17 Minn ranked below like 6 teams with 2 losses and several more with 1 loss.  Now do you really jump them in the top 5 because of one win??  You almost have to but it’s not a good look.

Agreed.  I think they had Penn St wrong too, but i probably shouldn’t say that until we play tonight.

Ohio State offense looks pretty scary, they haven’t really played a great defense yet but they put up 73 today on Maryland.  Been putting up huge numbers all year.  No problem with them being #1, they look like a solid team.  UGA should be kicking themselves for pushing Fields away.

tOSU has always done that to the BIG though.  Nobody else has great players, particularly great skill players like tOSU does.  I’m guessing the backup QB would be dominating too.  Joe B wasn’t deemed good enough so they went after Fields and look at Joe B now…

UGA is probably very nervous about next year.  I have no idea what kind of options they have but not having a great option when they had 2 of the top 5 players in the country as Georgia QB’s is pretty sad.  Luckily or them they still have much better players than the rest of the East.

The idea that Georgia is one of the four best is a joke.

My four are LSU, Ohio St, Clemson and….Oregon.

Same here…The thought of UGA being ahead of Bama and Oregon is absurd given their loses to South Carolina…which is becoming a worse looking loss
