I live in Savannah and the current models are putting that damn storm extremely close to us…Everyone is on pins and needles.  It has been less than a year since Hurricane Matthew tore up this city and here we go again.  If Irma is a direct hit, it will make Matthew look like a folk dance compared to the amount of damage that can happen…

Keep us in your thoughts and prayers….This one looks like it’s going to be a real problem to the area.

It will probably weaken after it scrapes Florida, still bad but I can’t see it still being a Cat 5 when it hits GA/SC.  Stay safe though, never know with these things.

Forecasting 60 to 70 mph winds possible in the upstste. Lotta tall trees around my house. I’m concerned for sure.

Looks like it’s pushing more away from the SC coast.  Traffic here is already horrendous, terrible with FL, GA, and SC people moving through.  It was taking people 6-8 hours to get from Charleston up above Columbia last night, and it is taking friends about 5 so far heading up to Clemson from Columbia.  Quite a mess.

I went golfing today in Charleston and the weather was beautiful.  The current track is devastating for Florida but great for South Carolina.  They show it continuing deep into Florida as a Cat 4, I would expect that to get downgraded eventually to a cat 2/3 mid way up FL.

Good luck folks further.  SC won’t truly be safe until it goes 100 miles west of Miami.

No matter where it ends up going. You have to feel for the people affected. My wife’s sister and her family live in Florida, and they basically are stuck. Roads jam packed. Folks running out of gas in bumper to bumper traffic jams. I hope everyone here is safe and suffers no loss of life or property. I’ve been through 3 major hurricanes here in NC, and lucky for us never any real damage. I’m sure I’m not alone in wishing you all nothing but safety and good luck.

In Charleston it’s not so bad.  Got a decent amount of storm surge but probably only affected those on the islands or waterway.  Not a ton of wins but some good gust every now and then.  Lots of rain all day so far. 

Power have flickered off about 20 times and comes back on almost instantly every time.  Only lost internet for about 2 hours.
