Dexter Lawrence, Brandon Galloway, and Zach Giella.  Tested positive for Ostarine which can be found in dietary supplements and other products even as common as hair products.  It’s not something that should be consumed so i doubt any willingly took it.  Had to be contaminating something.  Hopefully a B sample will reverse this however Sample B comes from Sample A so it would be better to assume this will stand.  For a trace amount, and not an illegal street drug.  This is dumb.

To think these are the only 3 guys on the team pop for this when they eat prepared meals by Clemson and are in a pretty strict regime by Clemson where EVERYONE else is doing the same should tell all we need to know.  This wasn’t them willingly taking something under the table, they were very very unlucky.

Bama can use deer antler spray but we pop for this stuff?  Really hoping this gets overturned.

This will hurt, but I Dabo has handled it by coming clean publicly and the way he is standing by his players.

I hope we break it off in Notre Dame to show them how deep we are.

Agreed, on both points.  Dabo handles the media very well.

Get in front of the story Clem, lol! Your argument is without a doubt the most mind numbed sack of Dabo propaganda horse shit imaginable. Sorry, but someone had to say it.

Hair care products? Lol!!! Dietary supplements? LMFAO! You are always pointing the finger at EVERY other program, it’s your turn now. I’m sure that if Iptay has enough money perhaps sample B might be clean. Ostarine is illegal in North Korea btw. It enhances muscle growth and strengthens bones.

Just wow, I knew you were the ultimate homer but you just jumped the shark, Pal.
Nice shot at Bama on the way out tho

Look it up.  You are a GT fan right?  Surely you are smart enough to know Ostarine is in all sorts of products.

From the little bit of research I have done, this chemical seems to be in a lot of nutritional and dietary supplements and I am guessing they took something they thought was OK without checking with the school and they screwed up.  While I believe it is likely that they didn’t purposely take something that had a banned product, they may have to pay the price.  I hope test B comes up clean, but I am not hopeful.

Buzz, you actually sound like a Gamecock fan.  I expected more from you.

https://www.sportsmediapass.com/2018/12/24/what-exactly-is-ostarine/2/

This is one of the first articles that popped up on google. If the below quote is accurate, it seems that what the 3 football players took was purposeful and not by accident.

“According to the United States Anti-Doping Agency, ostarine is not and has not ever been approved for human consumption in the United States or elsewhere. The site goes on to state that there are some products out there known to contain the substance but clarifies that these products are illegal.”

I don’t know much about body building products or anything about Ostarine but it does seem to be possible that it was an accident.  This article from last year makes it seem as though it’s possible to be in something labeled as a “Dietary Supplement”.  It was the 6th article when googling “ostarine in daily use products”.  It doesn’t absolve them of guilt but makes it seem like it’s possible to have been conned into taking the wrong stuff.  Somebody giving a sample of a simple dietary supplement wouldn’t necessarily raise any eyebrows.

I does make me wonder if Clemson (or any school) test for all the NCAA banned substances all year.  If they do, which would make sense, it’s much more likely an accident.  If we don’t then shame on us.  We have the money to foot the bill even if it’s more expensive.  Two of those players have been through several rounds of NCAA testing so I would lean towards this being an accident.

Either way rules are rules.  I’ve heard this could be a 1 game or 1 year suspensions.  If it’s 1 year that guarantees that Dex goes pro, though odds were good anyway.

It does make me wonder how the deer antler spray wasn’t addressed, which seems very intentional, and how Honey Badger could lose count of his failed drug test and have no punishment.

It’d honestly be better if they smoked a little Marijuana to be honest, punishment wise, which is sad since this is such a small accidental type dose of some banned PED that enters products through cross contamination at factories in China.

Well, all I can say is this is why Dabo plays a lot of younger people early in meaningful parts of games.  You never know when you are the next man up.

As for the 3 guys, I am not fully buying the accidental part.  If it was one guy then maybe. You have three that tested for the identical item? It would be nice to know the whole story on that and how they got this in their systems. It appears you would have to go out of your way to get this into your system.  When you have the ability to eat at a place like Clemson’s football complex where the availability is 24-7 serving foods that I am comfortable has been checked for compliance.

I’m assuming they’ve been home and traveling a bit for the holidays.  That introduces a lot of opportunities for non-sanctioned items.

It’s always gonna hurt to lose a first rounder but Huggins and Pinkney are both good backups.  This could be a huge opportunity for Huggins to increase his draft stock.

Hate that you’re disappointed in me, you should be disappointed in science. Specifically the science of piss tests and the behavior of your athletes. But, you believed Dabo’s ridiculous bullshit. And lastly, if you get too sassy them you must be a gamecock? Seriously dude, I expected more from you.

Aside from comparing you to the way a Gamecock fan would act to Clemson having something go against them I’m not sure what I said that is wrong.

As for Dabo, he’s doing what any coach would do before a big game and deal with it in a manner that keeps his team motivated.

The ridiculous “bullshit” that Dabo did was publicly acknowledge specifically what happened, that he isn’t an expert on of substance, that he believes and supports his players while at the same time has to accept the NCAA process.  He also explained the process of what happens next the the B sample and there was an appeals process after that…Aside from the typical coach-speak it appeared to be well stated. To add to that, I have been listening to the ACC media day for the Cotton Bowl and Dabo has made the 3 players to the available to speak to the issue. I don’t know what more you can ask for.  They aren’t pointing or crying fowl.
