All I can say is wow.  It’s going to take several re-watches to fully take in what happen.  I don’t remember when I saw Nick Saban panic.  When he went for a 4th-1 on his own 35 early in the game that was a big tell to me that Saban knew our offense was superior to his defense.  Also, I think everyone saw the fake FG coming. Again, another act of desperation.

Tua never fully recovered from the pick six…Yes, he got a chuck play after that, but again never quite the same.  UGa and Clemson finally put some pressure on him and to be honest he choked a little….That goes hand in hand with how good Clemson’s secondary played.  They showed up and Tua was confused at the the formations Venables was throwing at him.

Biggest surprise:  Alabama’s defense not getting to Lawrence. No Sacks and no Int’s.  TL just stood back there and carved Bama up like a roast..

I can’t wait to watch the broadcast.  Wish there was a way to download it to watch on the flight home.

I’m very critical of the offensive line play during the season, but they did one HELL of a job last night.  Bama Dline was almost a non factor.

I can say, Clemson fans were ready from the start but that pick six was almost equal in celebration to Renfrow’s TD.  I think it was at that point Clemson fans knew the guys were ready to go.  Place went crazy.  I had a feeling when I woke up that morning, like I posted before this felt like the 2016 season run championship wise.  Then I saw Wilkens warning up on the field an hour and a half before kickoff, the QBs were still doing a walk through in suits with Streeter finding the play clocks and checking the turf, Wilkens was there warming up.  Just knew who wanted it more.

You both nailed it and I’m just stunned but elated at this win. Probably the best pass protection I’ve seen from a Clemson OL in 20+ years. Maybe more considering the DL we were facing.

I actually knew we had a chance when our punter kicked a 55+ yard punt early in the game. Not sure he could kick it that far if he had a hurricane at his back.

Hard to see many weaknesses in a game like this. Will likely see a few juniors like Mullen leave for sure now but I wish them all the very best.

Just a great time to be a Tiger!

Congrats on dominating the “best” Alabama team ever as the Bama fans claimed. Clemson defense showed that Tua is the 2nd coming of Joe Willie Namath. UGA exposed his weakness in the SECCG, but you guys tore him a new one. The joke going around the Naval Hospital is what is 4:44 in military time.  1644 Bama fans are still hiding and keeping really quiet. Thanks for that.

Yes I forgot about that punt!!!  Was great seeing that, helped flip the field and set the tone.  He got an ovation when he hit that one.

Who would have thought that a time would come when we would beat #1 Alabama, a team that allegedly was so good that they could be a NFL team, so bad that we would clear our bench and purposely take a mercy knee rather than put another TD on them when we clear could have….We could have been in the 50’s

I wanted to hang 50 on them so bad.  I wanted that last TD.

I hope that with this beating some of the top rated recruits start looking else where than Bama. It’s no fun watching 1 team dominate year in year out. It would be nice if 10 teams were neck n neck and could win it all if the breaks fall their way.

Ferrell’s “Come to Death Valley” Suge Knight meme should help us.

I actually think this will help with this a bit.  It might help Clemson more than the other 8 teams because a lot of them will say “Go win and have fun or got win and be miserable???”  But I hope it opens their eyes that Bama is not guaranteed anything. Too bad they already locked in most of a crazy good class with the early signing period.

I agree with almost everything CU and Clem said.  Everything went our way except 2 Bama fumble recoveries but there was NOTHING flukie about our win.  This wasn’t the TA&M game where a QB played at twice his limit and WR’s caught 4 passes deflected by the defense.  I was shocked by how good our OL played.  That first punt was amazing but the second was a rugby and total garbage…. I don’t understand why they didn’t just try to boot it again.  Fields deserves major props too because he had two amazing pass breakups over a much bigger WR/TE.  One was close to PI but I swear he looked like he was just floating over the receivers shoulder on both plays.

I would actually say that Tua had a good game.  His passing was similar to TL’s.  However his coaches didn’t have him ready for Venables.  Our players and coaches out played/coached Bama’s offense.  Besides one bust by Muse those amazing WR’s disappeared on our backfield.  Our DL stayed disruptive for most of the game.  Their run game was better but when they were needed most they were stuffed 4 times straight.  Also I doubt they run that much on us with big Dex in there….

After all that talk about the ACC not preparing Clemson and the SEC preparing Bama it turned out to be the complete opposite.  Clemson looked better and more prepared than every Bama player on the field.  Off the cuff I would guess that the ACC still passes more than the SEC so that matches Bama’s play style more.  Most SEC teams were probably unprepared for a passing offense so they got rolled by Bama.  Similarly Bama was not used to seeing much pass defense and we had big defensive plays because of it.

Some people have been spouting off that Trevor had the best game of the years.  Well kinda but he really was about at his average for most stats.  YPA up a bit (basically +1 big play) but completion % was down.  He missed DK on the left sideline one a play that is a TD about 9/10 times.  He missed a couple passes here and there that were easy completions.  He didn’t have a KB ACCCG game with like 18 straight completions out of nowhere.  Plus he’s a freshmen and he got like 20 extra practices where he was taking all the #1 snaps, something he didn’t get in the summer/fall, he should be getting better still.

Saban has made a career out of having teams that are too big and fast for almost everyone to compete with.  This usually leads to turnovers and points for Bama.  We reversed that severely is this game.  Considering the margin by which Bama out recruits us and their higher turnover rate of players this is quite the feat.

Clemson is the first 15-0 team and beat an undefeated Bama and Notre Dame to win the title.  Pretty hard to beat that!

They have the Clemson beat down in common, but a lot of teams looked pretty bad vs Clemson.

Remember when U of SC laughed at our insurance salesman coach?  Like that is a bad thing.  Referring to Dabo selling insurance before Clemson and how he would never be a good football coach because of it.  Good times.  Hey anyone want to guess what their best QB in school history Connor Shaw is doing right now?  Yep, selling insurance.  Guess they can’t throw that stone anymore.

All U of SC can do ow his cling to Bentley’s big game against Clemson while losing by 21…That’s all the have and I’m not entirely sure Clemson wasn’t sandbagging a bit in the game or were just playing not to lose going into post season..either way that’s their big claim.

On a slightly serious note it must be tough on the fan base dealing with out success and UGa coming back.  If the roles were reversed they would be sight to see.

Still can’t believe we’ve won 2 titles in the Playoff era after only 1 before that.  We are a 3 title school…wow.  Growing up hearing about the glory days of 1981, I never expected to see 1 let alone 2 titles come back to Clemson in my lifetime.  This will probably not be the norm forever, but it sure is fun while it lasts.

When someone asks why Brent Venables hasn’t taken a HC job yet, I think he’s pretty happy where he is at.  Can you imagine Nick Saban taking a photo like this??
