I read this article from Tnet interviewing Mack Brown about the ACC and Clemson and was reminded of something:

https://www.tigernet.com/story/Mack-Brown-on-playing-Clemson-Nobody-would-want-to-play-those-suckers-17984

When Mack was having a successful run at Texas, his was good enough to allow Dabo to bring his staff to Texas.  I think that’s where Dabo really developed his “CEO” style of leadership.  I do remember Dabo talking about this back then and as I recall, he was really impressed and used the phrase “They Do It The Right Way” or something close to that.

Hopefully Mack’s CEO style will work again at UNC.  I would love to see him take out the U of SC…

I’ve SEEN the future. Do you know what it is? It’s a 47-year-old virgin sitting around in his beige pajamas, drinking a banana-broccoli shake, singing “I’m an Oscar Meyer Wiener”.

It would be so great to see UNC take the wind out of USCjr’s sails.  Send them to a 4-8 season.

I would love to see it too, but I’m not gonna pick that game as a W. This is game 1 of rebuild where as Muschamp has recruited for 4 years. I plan on being there though.

If that hotshot QB can play you have a chance.

I saw a trending story there about a CB that’s transferring to UNC. What does he play like? UNC site says he was #8 CB in class, and one of best from Ga the year he committed to Clemson.

Mack Brown has been around, and I’m glad he has helped so many coaches. I think it’s great when you’ve reached a certain spot to be able to help those around you. The facts are there that DB has done a great job, absolutely fantastic job for Clemson. Brown had UNC as far as #4 when he was there before. He’s been recruiting very well. It will take time, but UNC will get a lot better. As for S. Carolina, I think UNC will give them a game. If it’s close at the end who knows?

I’m guessing you’re talking about Kyler McMichael.  This was 1 of the 3 very surprising transfers this summer. He got 100 snaps (not bad) last year and I never heard anything bad about him.  6’ 200# is big enough for corner or safety.  All I can guess is he either thought he would be a starter by now or the freshman are looking better than him.  I was surprised that you said he was going to you because I didn’t know he was considering UNC.  Personally I would much rather him (and other transfers) stay in conference as long as it’s not FSU.

Here’s another blurb on him: https://www.tigernet.com/story/Spring-preview-Mix-of-veterans-youth-compete-in-Clemson-secondary-17709

Feaster is was the other surprise as he would clearly be the #2 RB is more of a 2 man rotation instead of a 3 man we did last year.

Shaq Smith (5* LB) was the other as he had a chance at starting by apparently his father figure HS coach is at Maryland so he went to play for him.  You can’t tell me there wasn’t tampering there….

I think Brown is a good guy, and he definitely was kind to Dabo. I think he’ll do a good job at UNC - already doing well with recruits. I would like to see them beat USC, but I think it’s probably too early.

Not much wind to take out. Hard to see them faring much better than 6-6. 7-5 would be a great year for the Gamecocks.

They’ve already started up the excuse machine with “We are a better team this year but our schedule is just so hard”.  If they lose to UNC they will probably give up on the season and only win 4 and they won’t get a chance of leaning on the schedule excuse.
