I don’t think I’ve seen it mentioned here but a week or so ago he announced he would retire at the end of the season.

I’m not sure what to think about this.  At first it seems like Bud (60) has more in him but maybe knows that this years defense wont be that good either and will stick around one more season and leave with honor.  Maybe Fuente was ready for a change?  I’m guessing this buys more time for Fuente even if this season is a bust.

Come on guys.  The season is almost here.  Lets get back to football!

I’m surprised BF never got a HC job.  He interviewed at Clemson even.  I think he is staying with VT in some capacity.

Foster never really learned to defend the HNH against quality teams.  When Tajh Boyd beat them up at Blacksburg and then spanked them in the ACC Title game that same year VT was never the same.

I’ve SEEN the future. Do you know what it is? It’s a 47-year-old virgin sitting around in his beige pajamas, drinking a banana-broccoli shake, singing “I’m an Oscar Meyer Wiener”.

Yea Clemson has had Buds number for awhile now.  I’m sure he turned down quite a number of HC offers.  To be fair many coaches struggle with defending HNH.  I still think talent level is the main thing holding them back.

He had shown interest in some HC jobs and hadn’t gotten them. He may have just gotten tired of doing what he was doing and didn’t see himself getting the opportunities he wanted.
