Most are definitely good matchups, even the Utah St.-Wake game should be good. Not sure how I feel about GT vs Clemson being the opener. I think GT needs a few weeks to get warmed up to be a semi-competitive game, the scheduling for this game was entirely to push cable companies to buy into the ACCN before the start of the season.

Awesome Week 1 slate. Love the conference openers. Virginia-Pitt is a huge game, and what a chance for new coaches Mack and Manny to make statements.

Go DUKE!! XD

I’m excited.  UM and UNC are a mess but it would be pretty nice if one of them could pull off a win.

UNC will be better, way better. They lack depth, but the coaches have harped on creating it somehow. We will see how they do vs S. Carolina, but I think they will win at least 6-7 games.

I expect them to be improved too. They need to avoid the injuries for a change. I think the first game with SC may be a little too soon, but it’ll be interesting to see that one.

UNC looking better or USCjr looking worse?  Can’t decide.  I feel like it’s UNC better.  Y’all almost got it UNC come on!!!  Close game.  That QB y’all got should do well for you going forward.

Good job UNC!!!!  Boneheaded call at the end though.  Y’all pulled it out.  Defense looking pretty good.

LMAO at USCjr, trash.  Never seen a worse 4 year QB.  They’ll be lucky to win 6 games this year.

MELTDOOOOOOOOOOOOOWN!!!

GET IT MACK!!!!!

I didn’t watch the whole game but 270 yards vs 483 yards makes it look like UNC really should have won by more.  I’m guessing the refs said Jake was down because it should have been 30-20.

This kinda loss can kill a teams drive even on the first game.

Good win UNC.  I guess they are the real Carolina :D

UNC started very close to the vest. Defense took about 1 quarter to get right. Howell showed pretty good for true freshman playing in first game of season. I was very pleased with defense as game went on. There were a couple of mistakes, one of which resulted in TD and another in big first down for S. Carolina. Dyami Brown will be a very good WR. UNC has 3 very good RB’s. Ran for over 200, passed for 240 or so. I think the team will improve as season goes on. QB, defense, everything will get better as season goes on. All the radio and TV people saying 0-5 can kiss it. I personally think UNC can possibly be in play for Coastal Division this year. The only team that’s not a relative toss up on their schedule is Clemson. The mistakes are correctable. I’m interested to see how they improve next week vs. UM. That game is set for 8 pm next Saturday on ACC network. Should be a good game.

Should be a late ‘90s atmosphere in Kenan next Saturday night. Winner of that game probably slides into the co-favorite role in the Coastal along with Virginia, who I still think is the class of the division this year.

Very happy Coach Mack…I love the emotions he showed after the game where he was virtually in tears at the pride he had for his players…I was also happy to see him dancing with his players in the locker room after the game.

I would love to see UNC make some noise in the Coastal.  It’s great for the league especially with the ACC network.  Mack Brown will be good TV if he keeps winning.  God for UNC too!

I still remember Dabo taking his entire staff to Texas when Brown was there and he was good enough to show Dabo and his coaches how they are running a sucessful program and I think Dabo learned a lot in how to manage a program from that visit.

That win was a coaching staff win. Same players but Carolina loses that game last year.  I loved every minute of it but I’m only revising my forecast from 6-6 to 7-5. Plenty of loss opportunities still on the schedule but even if Heels had lost, I would have been happy with the performance because there is life in the program. The future is bright and there were a ton of top recruits at that game. Next Saturday night will be awesome but I think Miami is a better team than SC. Can’t make any goofy 4th down kneeling mistakes there. The one handed sports center catches? More of those. Lol.

I was there with my son and the amount of “this ain’t basketball” and “Dean Smith can’t help” taunts we heard in the first half weirdly quieted down in the second. If anyone had gotten in my face I had my “ y’all at least have women’s basketball” response ready. Maybe even say “it’s okay, Alabama won today so you all should be happy.” In all honesty though I had some nice conversations with Gamecock people. They are disappointed but normal people don’t base their self worth on 18 year olds playing football. Having a 10 year old with me usually disarms most except for the drunkest of the bunch.

My son and I had cargo shorts on. Apparently those aren’t cool anymore. The worst gamecock temper tantrum I saw at the end was when some vineyard vines SC loser looked at us as we walked past their tailgate going back to car and called us “cargo short wearing motherf$&@ers” my son had the best response when he said in passing while laughing “scoreboard and good luck against Alabama” lol.

I had to work Sat. AM, and couldn’t make it to Charlotte. I will be in CH Saturday night, though.
