I would like for the FSU delegation to come out and discuss this game..Both teams coming off of a bye-week.  Clemson’s last game was a real struggle against a tough UNC team and FSU has played back to a winning record showing some signs of improvement.

The Line is Clemson by 27 and if this was about 3 weeks ago I might agree with that but now I’m not sure.  FSU has athletes all over the field.  Clemson will be coming after Blackman the entire game and I imagine FSU will come after Lawrence pretty hard..

I’ll be interested to see our defense against Cam Akers.  I know our defense has been doing great but the 3 man front still makes me nervous.  He will be our best test so far IMO.

I agree Ancient. UNC ran very well against us and Akers is a true elite RB. Our D is good but measurably down from last few years against the run.

27 is a huge spread, 17 sounds more reasonable.

Great observation…FSU may try to play slow-ball and pound Akers and shutting down the run is going to be huge.  You can count on Venables bringing the heat from all directions but a field position game is not what I want to get into.  That means our offense needs to play a clean game and avoid stupid penalties. If we can jump on them early and force them to through I think we can pull away in the second half.  I wouldn’t bet on the spread.

I worry about our 3-man front too. I’m not sure how good the FSU line is, but Akers is the real deal and could pose a problem. I think FSU is improved, but they’ve been pretty bad.

Assuming for a moment that we go to the playoff, the 3-man front would have a tough time against a line and running game like UGA. That’s tough to stop bringing up linebackers and safeties.

I think we’ll see a rejuvenated team.

It’s interesting the timeline happening.  A week or so ago we escaped at North Carolina.  A year ago to that almost exactly we escaped to Syracuse at home.  We were put on the ROY bus the rest of the season and we find ourselves in the same position again with Ohio St, LSU, Bama, etc performing well.  Dabo brought the ROY bus out again in his press conference today.  Said it got shined up and an oil change.  After that Syracuse game we went on to win every game by 20+ points the rest of the season.  It’s setting up eerily similar to last year.  Will the result be the same?  Not sure yet but this could be lining up perfectly.

I agree. I’m not too worried about the UNC game and what it means. That has been our pattern for several years, and we’ve responded well. I’m not sure why we do that so consistently, but I’ve come to expect it.

I am still concerned about the 3 man front eventually being a problem though. However, I’m not getting millions as one of the best defensive coordinators in the country either.

I am concerned with the UNC game as we have so much more talent but played very sloppy, which is a sign of a lack of focus.

The offense should be carrying this team and it is still MIA overall. I think this team needs a leader to replace the ones who left.

Something about this team seems to be soft and not driven like previous teams, at least to date.

I think tomorrow provides a window to the balance of our season. Come out all guns blazing versus plodding along with our talent alone will be what I’m curious to see.

Our coaches have sandbagged for years, particularly on offense.  They don’t like to show much during the season.

UNC just outcoached our OCs and the OL got blown up. That has nothing to do with sandbagging.
Teams are picking up on our formations, pretty much know what plays are coming, sitting on our routes as we are extremely predictable. We also play way too slow.

Welcome to October!  The Tigers have awaken and is starting play with the new toys in the playbook.  CWT looks shell shocked on the sideline…

Hard to believe I thought that FSU was going to make a game of it..

I knew it’d be a bloodbath.  Happy with it, my only frustration is the drop off past our 2nd string is a canyon and it’s frustrating to watch them give up points and stats in a shut out.  Pair that with our 2nd and 3rd string offense not scoring, it’s so frustrating to watch.

Smoked them.  We do need to cut down on the turnovers a bit.

Held them to 253 yards, pretty good.

Should of been way under that.

I was really disappointed with the play of our 2nd stringers.  There shouldn’t have been such a big drop off after 7 weeks against a really bad and defeated team.

Loving the downplaying of Clemson happening once again.  It’s lining up for us.  Everyone preaching Alabama as the most complete team in the country.  LSU making the predicted jump up after beating Florida, they are setting up the Bama vs LSU game for the hype only to have one fall 1 spot after losing.  A lot of talking heads have Ohio St and Oklahoma above us as well.  It will all sort itself out and I can’t wait.  Happens every year and Clemson feeds off this stuff.  All we gotta do is keep winning.
