Our crappy bullpen lost the series for us. We had UNC beat twice and had a pitcher take us deep in both games but as soon as we dipped into the pen, gone. Ouch. That really hurts.
Both teams have good pitching. 1-0 is nothing in college ball with aluminum bats. UNC has scored all season. Clemson is good, but I do not think your relievers are up to those at UNC. The Tigers have had a good season, and may very well win Sunday, as UNC still has not settled on a regular Sunday starter. As for UNC, they are good. Not 2013 good but very good.
Clemson loses on a blown throw to first in extra innings. Fitting. Ever since they came out and said we eat pressure like candy we haven’t been that good.
Congrats on UNC’s sweep. They are the better team in the ACC right now. I would have liked to have taken at least one from the Tar Heels. Hopefully Clemson can learn from this and finish strong and get a hot streak entering the playoffs…
Clemson lost 3 relatively close games. Both are good teams. Both have good starting pitching. UNC scores runs, and has done it all season. If there is one mistake made UNC usually capitalizes on it. I’ll also add UNC is getting better as the season goes on. They’ve been to the College World Series 7 or 8 times, but have never won it. I’ll not guess they do this season either. After two seasons without an NCAA invite, and last year not even qualifying for the ACC Tournament I’m very happy for the players to have some success.
I’m hoping all the contending ACC teams do well to finish out the season. I’ve only watched Clemson in their 3 games at UNC. I have to think their offense and relievers are better. Then again, UNC has good pitching and some timely offense of it’s own.

Baseball games are 9 innings and they all count. I think it is safe to say that a sweep means one team is better than the other.
Clemson is good but they aren’t as good as Carolina this year. Doesn’t mean they can’t win it all either but this wasn’t just a series win, it was a sweep in April not Feb when teams are finding themselves.
Yeah and Monte knows our bullpen is crap hence why Barnes stayed in. If we had any sort of bullpen we would of taken this series, theres no need to get defensive about me saying that. Clemson led in all 3 games and down the stretch when it was time to pull the starter, the dam broke.
I’m not calling UNC bad by any means, we all know and have said they are one of the best teams out there, I just think we had at least 2 of the 3 games fully in hand until we needed our bullpen. Clearly not a well rounded team missing a bullpen so call it what you will, but we were easily toe to toe.

If I remember correctly.. UNC used their bullpen also. Offense may be the problem. Good pitching can cause that problem.
We’d be the best team in the country if we wouldn’t strand so many people on base, JEEBUS it’s terrible. Our hitting with men on base and in scoring position leave a lot to be desired.
