FSU and Clemson aren’t ‘built like SEC teams.’ They’re better.

You can’t argue with this.

FSU has beaten the SEC champ at least 9 times, and we don’t even play in the SEC, lol:

1987 champs 34-6
1988 champs 13-7
1989 champs 22-14
1993 champs 33-21
1994 champs 23-17
1996 champs 24-21
2000 champs 30-7
2013 champs 34-31
2015 champs 27-2 (I am running out of room here-thanks again gator!)

I look forward to a time when someone can compliment a team by saying “they are built like an ACC team”, you know the type; athletic QBs, cutting edge offenses. But really, it’s difficult to pidgeon hole any team as your typical ACC team when the team’s very so much. The teams that have actually had some success against Bama in the last 10 years were not exactly built like your typical SEC team. Arkansas under Petrino had competed well in their division and I believe has beaten Bama at least twice, same with Texas A&M and Auburn. You can’t out SEC Alabama, you need to have an elite athlete at QB and be able to spread the ball around, something that seems to be the identity of your typical ACC team.

That is the style of Fuente and Vt. I think Vt will be a lot like say a Baylor under him. Except Foster should put up better defenses.

The SEC tries to out Bama each other and nobody does Bama like Bama.  ACC has better QB play and more diverse and creative teams.  The main thing that Bama, Clemson, and FSU share is striving for physically dominant teams.  Even when playing good teams sometimes that’s the edge, leading to the results the BIG has had in the playoffs 2 consecutive years.  If you’re physical and have a few special players, particularly at QB, you have a great shot at a title.

Clemson, America’s team.  Most followed college football team in the country on Twitter.  Social media on point.  Other teams copy us.

Ha!! America’s team.. That brand doesn’t pull an audience like a lot of other programs do.

As for the SEC.. The competition amongst conferences is leveling out across the board.. The SEC reigned supreme a few years ago.. But that reign is no more, and SEC fans who used the success of the conference to legitimize their own program are grasping for straws.

I think the ACC Atlantic is the strongest division in the country.. That is the standard at the moment.. over the last 4 years there’s been 2 national champions.. 2 heisman winners.. and played in 3 of the 4 championship games.. No other division in college football can say that.

I think Clemson and FSU are built like Clemson and FSU and not a specific conference thing…

I agree.. Maybe “built like an SEC team from 10 years ago”

But that might not be true either because FSU and Clemson have better offenses.

Exactly! If you asked anyone what differentiates built like and SEC team from a good team, you would get some stupid answers.
