Interesting read about a survivor of the Battle of Dunkirk. As a combat veteran I’m reluctant to watch these modern battlefield movies because it brings back so much. I enjoy the old ones that are not so realistic. I’ve not seen this movie, maybe I will and maybe I won’t. Between June 30, 2015 and August 3, 2005, my Battalion lost 13 Soldiers killed in action in and about Baghdad as part of the surge. It doesn’t take much to recall memories and get lost in the past. Life in the Infantry is inherently dangerous by the trade. If the training doesn’t kill you there is a good chance combat will, some are luckier than others and some are Heroes. Those Heroes lie in hallowed ground. I would give back my Combat Infantry Badge and all of my awards to bring those wonderful men back. Memorial Day is everyday for Gold Star Families.
