My wife just got out of hospital yesterday. Was admitted straight into cardiac ICU unit Friday. It seems she had a super toxic level of drug in her system. No one knows really how it happened. It could have been a reaction between 3 medications, but that is not for sure. Her heart was not beating correctly, and they had an external pace maker applied. One thing that is for sure is that I am glad to have her home. Three MD appointments tomorrow, and hopefully the good news will keep coming. We are not super old (early 40’s). Health is a great gift, and I have a new appreciation for it.

That is a scary thing.  I have been married 31 years to my best friend and could not imagine life without her.  It’s good she’s back home.  Keep us posted…Thank you for sharing!  Family is everything in my world.

Oh wow, well it’s good to hear she’s home.  Did the Docs mess up or did nobody know the meds interacted?

Let us know how her recovery goes.

There were drugs invovled, but it wasn’t a mistake. Really it wasn’t ever figured out. The two drugs involved required blood testing, but either the tests were incorrect or there was a sudden increase in it’s level. Either way, it’s effect is like a concussion syndrome and it can take months to totally recover. The fact is she may never fully recover. I am just glad she is here today. She was in a life threatening situation. Her heart was out of rhythm and needed intervention. We are so fortunate to live near great medical facilities here in North Carolina. We got a call Friday morning at 4 am to go to emergency room immediately. We went she was examined and immediately transported to cardiac ICU. What a week!

I’m sorry to hear that happened but glad she got the help she needed. Praying for the best for her.
