Merry Christmas to you guys, and every one on here! I hope you and your families have had a joyous day. I made a standing rib roast, and it was delicious. What a great day!

Absolutely! I hope you all had a safe and Merry Christmas, and thanks to those spending it abroad in our service. All the best. Happy New Year!

Been off the internet for a few days and am back in the land of the pines…Merry Christmas belatedly to all of you.

I could not agree with you more on “The Last Jedi” CU. I enjoyed all the battle scenes and I really like Adam Driver as Kylo Ren. I hated the cheap jokes though. When Luke Skywalker brushed his shoulder off I almost walked out. My wife and 2 of my kids all loved it. My oldest agreed with me though when we talked about it as we all saw it separately and compared later. When she told me that all I could think was “I always did like you the best.” Lol.

Did they modernize it too much or something.  I haven’t gone to see it yet.

They took Luke’s character in a very different direction than the George Lucas version.  Let’s just say that the suspense in “finding Luke” in the Force Awakens and how you were excepting Luke to be in the trailers of The Last Jedi is very misleading…It was a movie made be committee IMO

I feel like it was a movie made for children…it still has some really cool scenes and imagery though.
I hope the upcoming Solo movie is as good as Rogue One was.

Rogue One was a bit of a let down.  I didn’t hate it, but I didn’t love it.  I thought they introduced too many characters that didn’t get enough development and I think the movie was too long.  They could have cut out a good 20-30 minutes of unnecessary sections…Overall, the move felt a little “forced” (bad pun)

Like Star Trek, I am one of those older fans that grew up on the original product and saw them in their first runs and I don’t like to see the overall theme drift from the original intent…I am a bit of a curmudgeon in these stories and I freely admit that…LOL
