So leading up to this game, Baker Mayfield has missed every single one of his media day/interview spots due to what team officials say is “Illness”.  He showed up late with only 20minutes left today at the final one.  Yet he has practiced every day.  What’s the angle here?  Oklahoma trying to keep him from spewing off at the mouth?  Protecting from questions about his antics?  Actual illness?  Pretending to be ill to throw UGA off?  It just doesn’t smell right to me.  He also has a personal Oklahoma State Trooper escort the entire trip.  Though Riley did say Mayfield’s energy was low and he may not be 100% but won’t be missing the game.  If this is true and its legit illness it could pay off for UGA.  No Mayfield, or a sick and battered Mayfield with low energy = big win for UGA.

As long as UGA can play some defense they can win this game, pressure is on UGA defense.  Clemson has personally seen this before with Oklahoma, high powered offense but no defense.  And when they run into the buzz saw that is Clemson’s defense they end up getting thrashed.  Put pressure on Mayfield, get some sacks and ruin their gameplan and he gets super frustrated like Lamar Jackson.  I fully expect UGA to score what they want to against the Big 12 defense, Oklahoma’s D is ranked #81 in total D.

I think this is a big head game.  They are trying to rattle UGa’s cage.
