Clemson fans are in the rare situation of actually following college hoops from the perspective that Clemson has a skin in the game this year.

The Tigers are 13-1 and are 2-0 in ACC play and ranked 25th in the nation….They had quality wins against teams like Florida, Ohio State South Carolina…

This could be yet another lesson to impatient fan bases that sometimes it takes a lot of time to big a program literally from the ground up.  Clemson is investing in the BB infrastructure and it would be nice to have a NCCAM’s program that could at least make it to the NCAA tourney more consistently.

BC is a great win too. They beat Duke and lost to UVA by one on the road.

B.B. is a quality coach and ISNT looking to make Clemson a stepping stone for a better job, which is a rarity. We finally invested in a quality (not elite mind you but good) basketball facility and we need to allow him time to leverage that. People rant about Dabo’s success (rightfully) but keep in mind he has every tool available to him with facilities, staff, money, etc All. You can’t build a ACC caliber basketball team at Clemson without something more than just average facilities and resources. It is fools gold to assume otherwise.

Making the tourney is not a huge deal to me. There are limited slots to make the tourney and given the blue bloods in our conference are going to get most of them, we are in a tough spot to make the tourney consistently.

Agreed.  A lot of people wanted him fired last year but look at us now.  We’re ranked and lucky enough to be in contention for the #2 player in the country.  That’s a big deal for Clemson.

I don’t expect to stay ranked at all times but just want to see our boys look like they are well coached and when we hit on a good player every now and then make a good run.  I consider these to be realistic expectations for Clemsons program.

Making the NCAA Tourney has to be one of the big goals.  I am not looking right now to be a top seed team, but when you are in the best basketball conference in the nation I think it is fair to make the tourney at least every other year as a start and build from there.

I agree. Making the tournament and a reasonable showing at the conference tournament is a great start.

Tar Heels can be beat by pounding the ball inside. Mich St and FSU proved that…

Clemson has a real shot to break the streak here in a week

Beat UNC in Chapel Hill and I’ll be the biggest fan on the board.  Seen this to many times, great start but full collapse come Feb/March.

UNC is having an up and down season so far. They are obviously playing much better at home than on the road. Winning the Championship last season makes this a little easier to accept. Outside of Kendall Marshall’s finger fracture Williams’ teams are on about a 4 year cycle for Championships.

4 years is good for any sport, particularly basketball considering the depth of competition.

Might be the year.

Don’t tease us Pines.  Clem might have to become a basketball fan.

Right?  I’m still holding my breath that Clemson might collapse to end the year like the usual disappointing note.  I would love to win in Chapel Hill though.

UNC 6 point favorite last time I checked. If they play like they did vs. ND they will lose, but they have been playing better at home. We’ll see.

I think UNC will win it unfortunately. They know people see this as a year Clemson could end it and will not want to be the team that loses it. I think the record is more likely to end with a surprise upset. That said, the match up is more favorable this year than usual.
