So many leagues have tried to take on the NFL and have failed…Perhaps with the somewhat negative reputation the NFL has in many people McMahon thinks this is the time to launch a new league to play on the patriot heartstrings of fans.

If it is a more serious league than the old XFL I would watch it.  It looks like they are going to take a little more time to develop this league.

We will see.

Pirates function as a team. There were a lot of castes and classes in England at the time. But with pirates, it didn’t matter if you were black, white, rich or poor. The object was to get a treasure. If the captain did a bad job, you could just overthrow him.

I have a hard time seeing that being successful, but who knows? Certainly and uphill battle.

I think it will be a better product without the WWE crossover. Who knows, he may give the NFL something to think about and do a better job with their product. Competition makes a better product.

This would be incredible.

It would kill a lot of cfb programs.  Destabilize the top.

I agree.  There tends to be quite a bit of excitement of this new league to my surprise.  If done right, it could have a chance.

It should not compete against CFB and NFL or it will fail..

I would like to see a spring league that ends around June-July.  I think the CFL is the league that would most likely suffer from a successful XFL.

But High School kids need to be off limits.

If you listen to Outkick the Coverage, Clay Travis talks a lot about this. He has a host of suggestions for the XFL…I’m sure some of them would work. Going against the NFL straight up will not.

Donald Trump proved that when he destroyed the USFL.

If they got the best out of high school, it would likely end up being a developmental league for the NFL for kids that didn’t want to go to college. The NFL teams can offer salaries and status that would pull the best players out of there after three years. This may not be a bad thing, but it would be interesting to see what it did to colleges.

Realistically, I could see maybe kids who are top 20 out of high school being drafted. Most of the time an XFL team would rather take an over the hill NFL vet or a probable NFL undrafted kid out of college. I could see the XFL being a landing spot for kids who spent a little time in college, but become an academic casualty or kicked off the team for other reasons.

I don’t believe it will hurt the college game at all.

Agree except the top HS talent that would be pro ready before year 3.
