In game Willie Taggart tells the official to review the penalty that called back an FSU TD. The flag was thrown because the official allegedly saw the first throw on a double throw to be a forward pass. The official denies WT’s request and tells him the above quote.

Whether you believe it was a forward or lateral, an official should never deny a chance to review such a critical play. As it turns out, it was “close” and it looked like a legal play.

It was very very close.  In fact I think it was a backwards pass.  However the replay would not have overturned the call on the field.  It’s not what I would call definitive proof either way.

Here’s a replay.  The guy making the video sets it up in favor of FSU but Frenchy is leaning over and his had is extended making his line misrepresent the location of ball on the field.

The second replay is stupid because the player did not grab the face mask.  It just caught on his arm as it wrapped around his head when he ducked.

It’s very inappropriate for an official to deny a replay request, and if true should be reviewed by the conference.
