I have no problem with a State making this decision.  In 2020 the rate goes to 10.00 and the 1.0 per hour each year.

We will see how that plays out.  All I know is that I am starting to see a lot of Kiosks popping up and various eateries and also a lot of self checkout options at major stores eliminating a lot of jobs to keep cost down.

Lol, high school economics class makes you an economist huh?

The minimum wage is at its lowest real average in 40 years. Indexing it to inflation makes no difference.

Ever try to use a kiosk? I have, they already exist and it has nothing to do with the minimum wage. Rest assured the human does a much better job.

It’s not an opinion, it was a report showing a Fox News host not understanding that he was contradicting his own point on the minimum wage…but way to also not understand the point, dumbass…and simultaneously prove a long-standing one of mine.

Is this where you next tell me the military isn’t socialist and other false economic insights? I mean you know a lot about a lot.

People contradicting themselves in funny. Rather than go back through my points on the military, I’ll just post your response.

Well, I guess we can agree on that but I don’t know what we are arguing anymore then so I’m ready to be done.

Pines, you are almost having a civil discussion on this topic.  The Military is more like indentured servitude than Socialism.

To be honest, I like using kiosks in some venues rather than some of the people in these entry level jobs that obviously have no pride in their work.  Sam’s club for example has a phone app where yo scan your goods as you put them in the shopping cart and when you are done, you just pay on your phone. There is a checker at the door with a device that scans your phone and inspects your cart and your are done.  Almost no long waits and check out and you can actually monitor how much you are spending as you go.  This is why they are making a lot of buggy whips anymore.

Not contradicting anything, I said I agreed that it isn’t that simple. Didn’t say it wasn’t socialism, and really have no need to discuss with you the military since you have never been in the military and don’t have any idea what you are talking about.

You incorrectly labeled my post, still haven’t refuted the point and still don’t know what you are talking about.

People who can’t read simple statements of fact much less miss the point of posts are funny.

I’ll have a civil discussion the moment you start a thread with a civil post without taking a snarky shot at someone you disagree with.

All this time you have never gotten the idea that I respond you the same way you talk about others. Raising the minimum wage a little bit below the curve does not necessarily lose jobs the way it is simply taught in high school economics. It actually could be a huge win economically, but as always it is simply a fight over nothing. Politicians want to fight and they know they can make some basic statement about job loss of Fox and people like you will come running to repeat what you are told. As Curggr might say…it isn’t that simple and most economists would agree with me.

How could it be a huge win economically?  Serious question.

Our economy is based on consumer spending…you instantly give people more money to spend. Republican
Orthodoxy is give wealthy people money and they will boost the economy…most economist would tell you you give millions of people a little money and they will do a lot more than a few people millions.

Plus it is a simple moral issue in a wealthy society.

So you are in favor of income redistribution?  That’s what I’m gathering?

And that’s where the discussion ends. So stupid.

If you supported the most recent tax law, which I am pretty sure you did, you most definitely are because that is what it does.

The difference between you and I is I actually understand what I support.
