Have you seen the video of President Bush in Iraq?

I saw it when I first loaded my internet browswer. President Bush and the President of Iraq are at side by side podiums. All of a sudden, some fellow throws both of his shoes at Bush. President Bush ducked and kind of had a smirk on his face. It was a press conference, and all folks present were in the press. The other journalists jumped on the guy as he was screaming something in his native tongue.
I don’t know how you all feel. Politics aside, He is the President of the United States of America! They should take that fellow and draw and quarter him. This is still the United States of America, and no bozo behavior should be tolerated when directed at the President. It’s one thing to sling insults and differences of opinion, but quite another to sling you freakin’ shoes.

I was aware of that when I heard the guy screaming, but thanks for the clarification. In any event, where is the world going when someone displays that behavior toward the POTUS? Not only that, but I bet will be scoffed at by the American press.

It could be Bush, Obama, or Captain Kangaroo. If they are the President of the United States…..This behavior should not be tolerated. Anyone doing this type of thing should be punished. Like I said…Debate and insults are one thing, but this is something totally different.

100 percent correct UNC.  Anyone who does something like that does need to be punished with no questions asked.

I would have shot him if I was a Secret Service agent.  I would have assumed it was a grenade.

Out of curiosity does anybody know what angered this man to a point where he would throw his shoes at our President and in the Muslim faith tossing your shoes at someone is worse than wishing death on them. What were they discussing??

I think it’s safe to say that Iraq wants us out. They are ungrateful as hell but none the less want us out of their country.

To my knowledge the conference had just started, and the guy acted out. I think if the Iraqi’s wanted the US out so bad, they should have campaigned to saved Sadam. I’ll be honest, I don’t keep up with it everyday. The main issue (deposing Sadam) was done some time ago. Since then it’s just been “typical” middle eastern stuff. I may be totally ignorant and backwards. There are times and places to demonstrate frustation and disagreement. The dummy with the shoes apparently didn’t know that. Now he is surely paying a heavy price. The word is his employer had been trying to reach him via his cell phone and it’s turned off. No one has seen or heard from him since the incident. My hope is that someone is throwing their shoes at him. I just don’t think that’s the way to go about voicing frustration, disappointment etc…
