A. Why does Fox and the radicals care if people build a church in NYC. I mean Fox is still beating the drum. I think most people have lost interest. It’s more of the same, manufactured fear thrown into the public face.
B. Why in the heck would Glen Beck hold a rally on MLK day in Washington DC? Talk about inciting racial divide. This is ridiculous. There are 355 other days of the year to do this, why did he pick MLK day?
C. Why do the radicals continually tell Obama to fire his economic team when they can’t come up with anything other than George Bush’s plan to dig us out of Bush’s depression? Seriously, I guess in parts of Mississippi and other southern states people can get burned, then touch the hot spot again but outside of the south mainstream America know this is Bush’s fault. You’d think the rep would actually come up with something other than keeping the Bush’s tax cut. I mean really, these guys (rep) were elected to lead on their principles but yet none of them, not a one, can come up with anything other than to take shots at Obama for trying to get us out of this mess. Boehner told people this week that it’s Obama’s fault that Gov workers make twice as much as private sec workers. DUHHHHHHHHHHHH.. Obama created jobs in the gov to stimulate the economy to help dig us out of Boehner’s and Bush’s depression. What does he expect. In reality, it’s his and Bush’s fault Obama had to create gov. jobs. It’s absolutely insane the position these fools take. And some of you all wonder why you don’t vote… this is example A why you don’t vote.
D. Fox News ratings… in the big picture of TV ratings shows like American Idol, NFL Football etc get million of viewers. In that big picture, Fox news is blimp on the radar. A very small portion. So when I say things like “in your bubble” that is what I’m talking about. Most of you watch Fox News and believe that everyone else does when in reality a small part of mainstream America watches that stuff or MSNBC for that matter. The fact is people don’t care about politics until election time and really not that much then.
Just some random thoughts.. Please by all means share yours.

If that is truly the case then why spend the countless threads talking about it or even bothering to discuss it when someone else brings up a political point?
Wreck, I can answer this one: It’s because he’s a fanatical lib. Libs can’t help it. Think about it. What do they do best? Here: Tell you what freedoms you should give up as long as it doesn’t effect their freedoms, how to think as long as it doesn’t effect how they act, and tell you what to do with you’re money as long as they can do whatever they want with their money.

Because this is a southern website that attracts all kinds of people. I’d say this particular forum has as many free thinkers as radicals. However both sides have an opinion. The folks I’m talking about don’t watch Fox New or MSNBC, are disengaged in the political process and could care less what you or I think. They vote because they are American, and American’s vote when it’s election time.

It’s self-preservation wrt their lifestyle.
And now I’ll follow up with you.
You are so engaged and overcome by the hate you can’t discuss or even consider anything outside of your radical takes. And that’s sad Dude. You seem like a likable guy, outside of politics your very engaging. But when it comes to this board you like one of the Fox News sheep following the flock. If I say it’s Saturday on Saturday, you’ll say I’m liberal and it’s really Sunday. Yes, it’s that bad.
It’s ok for you to have your take on things. That’s American. However, you and others on both sides of the isles have become disillusioned by Fox, who is not media. Yes, the other side is bad also… but not even close to being anything like Fox. Your so caught up in it, you need to breath. Or at least you come across that way.
Yes I tend to lean to the left. But it wasn’t always like that. I was a registered republican for years. My family are mostly registered republicans. Then the evolution of Bush and Fox News came to play and frankly I have a brain. The republican party that you fight for everyday is gone. It doesn’t exsist anymore. Now your side is filled with hate, fear forcing radicals that are driven by social issues and keeping the rich folks rich. That’s not me….. but it’s ok with me if that’s you.
You don’t know me. You don’t know if I’m a fanatical Lib. You only think that because perhaps some posts read that way. The bottom line is politics are like everything else. There is right, there is left….. and most people are in the middle. And believe it or not, I’m mainly in the middle. Especially in financial matters. But don’t be fooled… I"m way left on every freakin radical social issue because I don’t care what a women does with her body, I don’t care if people get high, I don’t care if gay people get married, I don’t care if muslims build a church in NYC and I care ALOT about stem cell research that somehow the radicals have high jacked.

The end.
Oh, the irony. You write as if I don’t know you, yet you don’t know me. Not that I owe this to you, but here: I’m not a Repbulican. Mostly vote that way because there are very few legitimate libertarians. I much prefer the Ron Paul-types to Bush, Palin, or whoever the Repubs throw out there. I rarely watch Fox News. I do enjoy O’Reilly and catch his show about twice a week. I don’t care for Hannity at all. I find Beck engaging and admire his passion or acting ability (whichever one it is), but don’t agree with him all the time. I never watch his TV show and catch his radio show for a few minutes here-and-there, first, when I’m in position at work to do so and, secondly, if there is nothing good on sports talk radio. I prefer to read books, magazines, blogs, etc. to get my news and expand my knowledge. You’re less likely to get bias if you have several different sources.
And since you threw a few topics out there, I am opposed to abortion on religious grounds, I don’t care if people get high either, I’m opposed to gay marriage also on religious grounds but have zero problem with civil unions that allow partners to garner the same benefits as married folks, and, though I think it is in poor taste, I don’t care if the muslims build a mosque in NYC either (like I said, I’m typically a libertarian and that’s their constitutional right), and lastly I, too, care a lot about stem cell research as long as babies are not cloned, or aborted/murdered for the sole purpose of research. I think a lot of lives can be saved in the long run. Interesting that you and I are the same page on serveral (arguably half) those topics. Not really the Fox News talking points are they. LOL.
Point is, much to your apparent surprise, is A LOT of people think like me and could care less about Fox News, Bush, Palin, Rush, or the Repbulican Party. Your obsession with Fox News and its “brainwashing of America” is tired, boring, disconnected, and flat out wrong So move on to some other theory as to why America won’t give Obama, Pelosi, Reid, and the rest of the libs and their socialistic policies that you promote in your daily rants a chance. Ignore the polls, ignore the will of the people, and ignore that image in the mirror and you’ll fall right in line with today’s Democratic Party.
As for me—as I said in the other thread—I’m tired of trying to argue rationally with that train of thought.

I don’t even waste my time or energy on here talking politics but you nailed it here. Great post. I feel the same way.

What I know about you is you said I was a flaming Lib and you based that assumption off my post which was right down the middle. Your comment was very telling. AND-I think it’s very interesting that since Bush displeased republicans are now calling themselves libertarians. LOL it’s almost a trendy thing now. When it fits your down with the constitution but when it doesn’t it’s Obama’s fault? It’s the liberals fault? LOL You can’t have both. I’m sure since your a libertarian that your aware of the constitution and that little line in there about THE SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE? Where does this line exist in the Constitution? It’s an interpretation…. nothing more. You know, there’s also this amendment that promises me freedom of religion to believe what I want on religious grounds without having my rights infringed. On two of the issues that have been high jacked by the religious right, abortion and gay marriage, you’ve injected the church part lol… so what is it. [/color] There you go again…. trying to paint everyone as a lib or Repub. Fact is people have base beliefs and then lean one way or another. Me… I have libertarian beliefs with conservative leanings. So yeah I can have it both ways. I believe people have the right to worship how they want and where they want, but not to make a mockery of the church for monetary gain (gay marriage and the benefits that go along with it) or it’s one of it’s core beliefs (Thou shalt not murder) because it’s benficial to their lifestyle to have a baby aborted. Now, in the case of danger to the mother that’ diffierent. But with today’s medical advances, those situations are few and far between. But I’m not here to talk about abortion, I’m here to show you that rational people are not cookes cutters that fit neatly into one defined group and people often have logical reasons for thinking across the lines and as you call it…..“having it both ways”

I’ve spent enough time arguing rationality with an irrational person again today. Won’t fall into that trap. It’s too nice of a day to spend it as such.
A. Why does Fox and the radicals care if people build a church in NYC. I mean Fox is still beating the drum. I think most people have lost interest. It’s more of the same, manufactured fear thrown into the public face.
Because a CNN poll told them that 70% of the population of the US is against the mosque.
Overwhelming majority oppose mosque near Ground Zero
Posted: August 11th, 2010 01:02 PM ET
(CNN) - A proposed mosque to be built two blocks from the World Trade Center has little support nationwide, a new CNN/Opinion Research Corporation Poll suggests.
According to the new survey out Wednesday, nearly 70 percent of all Americans oppose the controversial plan to build the mosque just blocks away from the solemn site in lower Manhattan while just 29 percent favor the construction.
I think the overwhelming majority of the US population envision something completely different from what is actually going to happen. The “mosque” is not some grand building similar to the Kaaba in Mecca, and it’s not like it is going to be some big monument to terrorism.
I think “at” is what is freaking everybody out. It’s at least 2 full blocks away, and from the map given in the first link, it looks like it’s not even within line of sight. From what I’ve gathered, it’s meant to be more like a community center instead of a full-blown mosque. I imagine it as a YMCA + chapel + auditorium for plays/recitals/etc.
Taking those ideas into account, in addition to freedom of religion (and the government being bound to the constitution), I don’t see why the mosque should be denied. If the mosque were to be built directly adjacent to ground zero, then more tact on the part of the mosque would be required to avoid offending a lot of people. I think it’d be fine if it were an outreach center where the message was “terrorism is not islam” or some other overtly peaceful theme.
Conservatives are acting like radicals. You see them firebombing and shots fired a mosque in Mufreesboro, TN along with Quran burnings in Gainesville, FL.
Yes, they are being nothing short of unfocused zealots. And of course, you have Rush and Beck and the rest of the Hee-Haw gang instigating this, but when the shit hits the fan they backpedal going “I’m just an entertainer.” Very Jenny Jones. Of course our government can’t legally do anything to inhibit freedom of religion; they leave that to the people.
Agree fully with Mountain West. If you want to begin really persecuting anyone not on the right, put these nuts in charge.
