This list will continue to grow longer daily. Not just in the South, but all over.

The bulk of the list is indeed northern schools. I can only wonder if it’ll catch more fire in the south as you say once Occupy Atlanta hits, which I believe is slated for Friday. Interesting thing is that OA hits Georgia big, hitting ATL, Savannah, Athens and Columbus. And guess what’s in Athens? UGA, quite possibly the 8th major southern university to join.

If there is another southern city that gets hit, I expect Knoxville, Nashville or Memphis.

There is actually an Occupy Winston Salem (Wake Forest) but it’s not on the list.

The Left wants government to give the common man a chance” (Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, education, infrastructure, Occupy Wall Street)

I dont think the deep south has ever been on the forefront of social change…newsflash!

North Carolina has a long reputation for being progressive as far as the south goes…so the fact 4 schools participating is not a surprise.

No argument here. But you have to admit, if the conservative south wakes up and begins doing what the rest of the nation is doing, you know it’s serious.

I think the republican base needs to rethink their platform… Their party can’t find a candidate that even halfway appealing enough to get elected president… although I do like Christie even though he’s not running.

The Democrats need to rethink its base also. All they have is Obama and he’s been a very disappointing prez to the left.

Didn’t notice the comments on that column until just now. Looks like someone (commenter lvleph) is trying to get something started at Virginia Tech.
