Seminole, while your summary on FSU’s position may be true… it contains a lot of “if” and “woulds”. The article I linked spoke from the Big 12 (which WVU is not a member of yet) position. They had a meeting, the subject of expansion came up, they did not pursue it, and scheduled no future meetings. That seems kind of easy to follow.

Again, if FSU, Clemson, VT, Maryland, etc… want out of the ACC please make sure the checks are covered, and good luck.

WVU is very much in the Big 12. It’s just a matter of settling the law suit to play next year. http://www.big12sports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=10410&ATCLID=205323383

Additionally a settlement has been reached and scheduling will happen or be released next week or right after.

Moving along I was emailed this today in regards to Clemson moving to the Big 12.

Lastly, everyone wants out of the ACC but the NC schools. Even Pitt and Syracuse are working quietly to get the Big 12 to notice.

ACC

UNC
NC St
WF
Duke
App St
Rutgers
BC
Pitt
SU
NC Charlotte
MD
Virginia
James Madison
App St
ECU
Miami

That’s after the SEC takes VT and GT.

and about that check, the Big 12 is helping us with ours so I’m sure they will extend a hand to others.

hahahaha! Just a matter of clearing up a lawsuit. Let’s see…. 10 x $20 million. I’d take it and declare freaking independence. This is all a joke. The ACC is going nowhere. It will not dissolve, and teams will not leave. I second Gametime…. Make it stop.

I am for going where the money is. May as well have Texas run roughshod over a conference as Swofford. It seems the big 12 and big 10 can at least hire competent referees.

Enjoy Ames, IA in November…ha! Or Lubbock at any time…see ya.

If the SEC expands again, GT will not be one of those schools…...Gt had their chance and left and they also don’t have the stadiums size and fan base for the SEC…... The ACC schools that would make the best fits in the SEC would be FSU, Clemson, VT and Yes…NC State

I think I agree.. the SEC wants in North Carolina and NC State is getting their attention. I heard several months ago that GT had a mutual interest in the Big Ten. And the Big Ten loves the Atlanta market.

Literally the noise is getting louder everyday. FSU and Clemson want out of the ACC. When it goes down, look out below. But, these power conferences are all in this together. They aren’t going to let the ACC fall apart. To much TV money involved in Super Conferences of 16 setting up playoffs. I’m wondering what the ACC will look like when the smoke clears? I think some of those schools I listed will be in the mix…

Bawwwwwwwwwwwwwwwahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa…

Charlotte? JMU? Are you kidding? I know being a WVU fan is hard sometimes but come on.

TBE… I mean TB12…your hatred of all things ACC is funny to me. You used to say how the Big East was the best and would dominate and now you are all of the sudden the Big 12 is going to dominate. Funny how that works. Can you find some more BLOGGERS to quote so I can go make plans on the future?

For all you SEC wannabes here is some SEC homer stuff. To save you the read, NC and Duke would get the first shot, turn it down, and then UVA, VT and State would get an offer according to this drivel. Football fan only message boards invent this crap and you guys lap it up because you can’t see the forest for the trees.

http://outkickthecoverage.com/secs-future-will-include-16-teams-four-divisions-of-four.php

2014 the ACC will be 16 teams with the additions of ND and UConn. There will be 4 pods with aligned geographically and the tv contract will be in the ballpark of all the others and about twice the size of the current one that just started. That is my prediction and it has a lot better chance of coming true than all this crap.

Enjoy Ames, Lubbock and Manhattan all you Big 12 longers…don’t let the door hit ya.I stick to what has worked for 50 plus years with some additions that will only make it better.

The Big 12…the new Big East. Unstable and doomed.

I know it sucks for you. You should bring that up at the next UNC via ACC brainstorming meeting. lol The fact is you guys have and continue drive away serious athletic and academic institutions.

As for flexing on the Big East… yep I did. And we went out with a band into the Big 12. I think the score when we beat your champ was like us in the 70’s and your league in the 30’s. I’d say that was a statement, but I’ll let you figure that out.

Adding UConn and perhaps ND will help you guys. But who’s going to replace Clemson and FSU and NC State and likely GT?

Ohhh…I am hurt. WVU > than the entire ACC. Nevermind losses to State and FSU in the past few bowl games. Those don’t count though. For someone who knocks Fox News for selective reporting you sure have selective memory.

Yep the Orange bowl was a beatdown….A CONFERENCE DENIAL BEATDOWN. Admit it. You know WVU applied to the ACC and was DENIED and I think it was a mistake but,  none the less the truth hurts.

Didn’t you make threads in the past where the Big East was going to pillage the ACC? What a surprise…now its the Big 12 over 1000 miles away. Newsflash…Texas is the Big 12 and they were looking to join the ACC last year.

Once again…enjoy Ames. I know that is where you wanted to be. I hear it is awesome. So awesome Harrison Barnes is in Chapel Hill.

I really don’t see Notre Dame in the ACC.  Notre Dame is not interested in being a fully equal member and as long as the BCS allows them access without being in a league, they will stay as an independent…......

I think the ACC’s adding Pitt and Syracuse clearly shows that the ACC is interested in being a super basketball league.  I also have no doubt that the ACC will expand to 16 teams and they will be basketball programs most likely UConn and Loisuville if the Big12 doesn’t get them first…....I also believe that ACC is adding more teams because they expect a couple of teams to defect elsewhere….

I don’t think the “football” schools enjoy being run by basketball schools.

Bingo…ND is about to lose their special status so their hand will be forced. I think WoadBlue’s column on this site was spot on.

The ACC ain’t expanding again until ND makes their move…UConn is the partner that will jump in a moments notice.

I will never understand the football or basketball thing. Why can’t you be both? If you must be one or the other though, as I have said before, the ACC’s lame football rep has nothing to do with the NC schools and everything to do with the Clemson, FSU, Miami and VT failures. You only have yourselves to blame.

What would the SEC be if they relied on Kentucky to carry the football banner while Bama and LSU were 6-6 and losing by 40 in bowl games?
Quit thinking the grass is greener on the other side and look to make the grass in your front yard as green as possible. I think Clemson is doing just that with their football spending spree.

Spoken like the fan of a NC Basketball school…......Football schools get it….You don’t.

I will say a few things that comes to my mind about this….It is now harder than ever to be a good BB program unless you are established.  The 19 Y/O rule now will send the best players in the nations to the best schools in hopes of being “one and done”.

Clemson had a good run under Oliver Purnell because he ran the Basket version of Paul Johnson’s Gimmicky Offense in the form of his “Press”....It allowed much less talented players to really hang with good teams, but at some point the best teams will get you….Now Clemson was in no way going to match the 2 million dollars that Depaul offered OP because evey school has to know what they are….We are not a Basketball School.. All coaches have used us as a stepping stone to get better gigs and that won’t change

Duke has a fine school but cannot fill a 30,000 football stadium because they will never be a football power and they will never spend 2-3 million on a football coach.  Any Duke football coach that gets that program into a winning season and a bowl is GONE!.........

Yeah I dont get it. Thanks for the lecture. Michigan, Florida and Texas don’t either. You know what else Carolina doesn’t get? 70 put on them by a team that tied for the Big East crown. Glad yall get football so much there…

Clemson blaming the ACC for sucking at football…Beautiful. I think you are the one that doesn’t get it bro…

You do realize that we scored 59 points on you at the end of the 3rd qtr before we sent in the scrubs…..had we kept our foot on the throttle we could have score 80 points on you so you of all people really have no room to go there.

I know one thing, North Carolina fan is angry. lol

First you cheat and get caught, then you get beat down during the season and lose all those recruits Blake and Butch were getting ready to pay, then you get a new coach who can’t recruit anyone….... your hoops team gets BLOWN OUT by FSU and the best football schools in the league are running away from you like their hair is on fire.

Look, if your a Tarheel, like an alumni, you have that great education to take your blues away. If not, you certainly can fake it. Most UNC fans act like they are all Rhodes Scholars when if you look in the mountains your peeps are more hillybilly than most of those dreaded WV fans.

A little FYI- we beat the team we tied with at the end of the year. Our league only had 8 teams creating lots of ties.

I’m sure you’ll see what I’m talking about as far as a small league. But hey, your hoops uni’s some think are the best in basketball.

And I mean this post in the most humorous of ways. And all that, that’s what I really want to say. But I won’t. That’s mean spirited and I’m not mean. I’m happy.

Hang in there… your a proud university, a big powerful one too. You’ll be fine when it all comes to pass. Just minus a few schools your used to. And you’ll get new ones. Maybe even Notre Dame in a few sports.

Oh I have plenty of room to go there CU…especially since Carolina is the basketball school. That is the natural order right since we don’t understand football right? And exactly my point…you are the football school (according to you right?) and you don’t show up at big games just like VT and the conference gets a bad rep and then you blame the ACC for the problem that YOU create. Nice…

Weird that an SEC homer site thinks Carolina is a better job than both Clemson and WVU and #12 in the nation.
http://www.outkickthecoverage.com/the-25-best-college-football-jobs-in-america.php
Not bad for a mere basketball school. The same site that says Carolina is the dream addition for the conference that Clemson and WVU wish to be in…and we don’t want it while you two will never get an invite. I mean this blogger says it so it must be true.
http://www.outkickthecoverage.com/secs-future-will-include-16-teams-four-divisions-of-four.php

We all know the Big 12 1000 miles away is your natural choice….

But no blues here TB12… thanks for the reminder of what big cheaters we are. Especially from a school already on probation. We shall see what the NCAA hands out as far as further penalties but the longer time goes on the more it looks like the self imposed stuff will be it as much as the haters wish for more. If we could only reach the high standards of West Virginia.
http://www.upi.com/Sports_News/2011/07/08/West-Virginia-football-goes-on-probation/UPI-37531310177409/

Ah yes back to the disintegration of the ACC. Looks like the ACC is doing fine in sports to me as much as you must hate it TBE…I mean TB12.
http://grfx.cstv.com/photos/schools/nacda/sports/directorscup/auto_pdf/2011-12/misc_non_event/jan12dIrelease.pdf
It is obvious that a conference that sucks so much at sports can’t get a big contract because nobody wants to watch losers…oh wait. They have one larger than the Big 12 and are more successful. I forgot.

But hey I am crying about North Carolina basketball cause of the loss to FSU a week ago. ???? Right…

Oh and you and Carolina both beat Louisville who also won the Big East…oh wait… you didn’t. That was just Carolina. I guess it was all the cheating that helped the Heels win because North Carolina is sure the center of college football cheating…we all know that to be true.

But back to my sorrows…once again I am crying because the ACC is falling apart (weird that it is actually growing but nevermind that) cause you and some blogger wishes it be. Funny all this began when I was actually trying to complement WVU…fortunately TB12 is happy though and not one to start taking shots after misreading intention to begin with.

PS Carolina folks don’t think we are Rhodes Scholars. That is UVA…

Well…At least “Clay Travis” of the nationally revered sports publication “Outkickthecoverage” likes UNC…..I bet you ad to dig deep for that One story…....

This is a fun time of the year in a way when those “basketball” schools come out of hiding to flex their muscles…..too bad we don’t see so many between say September and January when Football is going on….Of course they get a lot of built up energy they need to release….
