Once again…the old WVU source…boom…you got me. Wonder what their motivation is? Those tv numbers are COMPLETELY accurate.

Enjoy the Big 12 and don’t let the door hit ya. You are gonna love Manhattan and Ames when you are in their division and play Texas and OU twice every 5 years. Dumb.

I never said it was a credible source, just an opinion I agree with and fits with the discussion going on.

So basically what we do now with the Coastal schools??  Specifically VT and Miami?  Yeah…and you don’t even know how divisions would be aligned if the Big 12 made a move to include 2 more schools (and have basically 3 east coast schools).  You know what they say about assuming things…

If the door does hit us I hope we don’t get any baby blue paint on our clothes.  We all know what color the door is painted.  If Clemson and FSU leave there might not be a door left with the building crumbling down.

Well also have a Defensive Coordinator that came from Oklahoma after 11 years and our OC was a High School head Coach in Texas for 20 years…...

The plot thickens

The stupid thing that all of you fail to realize is that the 17 million figure that this WVU website qoutes is based on the same TV contract for the big 12 despite losing 4 schools!!!!!!! Dont you remember that ESPN let them keep their deal?  It aint getting renegotiated because WVU joins coming from a tiny poor and shrinking state, and TCU which has a miniscule fanbases in a state dominated by schools already in the conference.

TBE/12 is a master of spin but he can’t spin that massive Charleston/Huntington TV market.

Whatever though…again if you think the ACC will crumble because Clemson or FSU leaves you are as naive as I think you are by believing this nonsense. I will be sorry to see you go cause I like playing yall but you will be the one regretting the move if your school is dumb enough to make it.

I have no doubt that the big 12 will expand but it will be with Louisville and Cincy cause yall aint going and the idea of ND as snobby as they are, in a league with WVU, Iowa St and Oklahoma St shows you the credibility of this nonsense.

Oh well, it was fun while it lasted…. I guess. Best wishes to Clemson and FSU in their new conference. I hope it’s all the fans are dreaming of. When the ACC implodes, UNC will have no choice but to join the SEC. I for one would much rather make a November trip to Ga, Al, or Miss. than Iowa, Kansas, or Oklahoma.

To that end, I believe the chance of UNC leaving is about equal to the chance of either Clemson or FSU leaving. For that matter it’s also equal to GT, VT, Md, BC, etc.. It may happen, but it’s just not likely.

Well Clemson does have a coach who just moved from Oklahoma so maybe it is more likely…seems like a good reason to me.

My doctor’s wife’s sister has a friend who says they heard from someone who is connected…take it to the bank.

98, we will just have to settle for our measly little basketball rivalry with Duke that nobody cares about or watches. It just doesn’t have the cache like Clemson football. It is basketball after all and we should be ashamed and apologize to Clemson for being dominant at it. It seems to hurt their football and makes them want to take their sports to Texas. Makes sense.

Basketball has somehow come to be a detriment to all the schools that suck at it. Weird how that works.

I have to admit after watching FSU beat down UNC and Duke in basketball, I have to admit it is just not the same as watching them beat down in football.

In a good way or bad way Sem? Not sure which way you are going there…

We shall see if that beatdown occurs again in Atlanta since all this expansion has killed the goose that laid the golden egg. Something tells me the Noles wont be favored against the Heels if we get to meet again. But yall won big so I give you all the credit.

I am afraid the FSU record in basketball is the same as the UNC record in football .... zero. But that wasn’t the point I was simply rubbing in the fact that FSU had just beaten both schools in an attempt to antagonize you and it worked perfectly!

They are saying they could double Clemson and FSU TV money to $35 million with a new TV contract. TB12 could be right here. Apparently they do have those exploratory committees going.

http://www.eerinsider.com/2012-articles/february/clemson-and-fsu-are-on-the-clock.html

It is being reported that the ACC stands to make a whopping 1-2 million dollar per year with the addition of Pitt and Syracuse. Wow….

http://www.sportsbusinessdaily.com/Journal/Issues/2012/02/06/Colleges/ACC-TV.aspx

Now the SEC is staying at 8 conference games which will allow teams like Miss St to continue with 2-6 record in conference and still being bowl eligible.

With a 9 game schedule, there will be teams that won’t make it to a bowl, plus losing an extra OOC game with the extra traveling cost to these paradises and the potential loss of bowl revenue has the appearance of being a marginal plus to a potential net loser in money…..great job Swofford.

I think 35 Million is pie-it-the-sky money to the Big 12, but if the money is anywhere near that Clemson and FSU would be insane to not take that and run.

It seems to me that the UNC fans truly don’t understand and even resent Clemson and FSU’s potential pursuit of a new conference home over staying in the shang-ri-la conference called the ACC….

Pitt and Syracuse show you what adding a basketball school to a conference does…...very little.  The extra revenue won’t be worth the extra expenses and loss of home games.
