I guess it’s a sign of the times. Conserving water is going to be a big thing going forward. The town is giving out the seed, so there won’t be as much need to water lawns once the seed grows out and spreads. I converted my yard a year ago, but didn’t sod it. I planted seed. About 85% of my front yard is covered, but the side didn’t take. It doesn’t get full sun, and there’s a tree over there to soak up the water. I’ve decided to build a little wall and mulch about 80% of the side in.

What kind of grass is in your lawn? I would think down in the south summer grass is what’s dominant.

Boring topic, I know, but this time of year it’s what I think about. That’s the middle 30’s of a married father, I guess.

I wish my town was giving out free bermuda grass. My front yard needs it.

Yes, yes it is. Most of the urban southwest is going to be straight f-ked.

Centipede in back and zyosia in front. I like the zyosia much better but dont want to spend the time or money to convert…good luck with starting from seed. That is a hard thing to do…

I started last year. The front came in good, but side will require sod. I’m going to arraite (sp) Tuesday and set the sod that day or the next. We’ll see, but free seed is free, and that’s good.
